Dear husband, I love you, but,,,,Rant ahead!

  • We have Dish Network and 2 tv's, so we you do not have to watch HGTV, etc., and I don't have to watch old army/westerns, etc.

The problem is all these other shows you want to DVR. So you set your tv to record NCIS on yours, and White Collar on mine. GRR!

We talked about this last night, and I agreed to let him know if he had 2 shows recording at once, cuz, God forbid, I shut one off the other night. White Collar that reruns in infinity!

So, tonight, all of a sudden, it's NCIS on one and White Collar on the other and he's not home, so, since I agreed, I called him. Which do you WANT?

It wouldn't be so bad, but he whined last night that I record every episode of the Biggest Loser! Well, duh, of course, then he's like every rerun! Dude, they do not rerun those on Dish, that I know of. If I don't get the original episode, I don't get it!

If TBL is rerun some one please tell me!

    Ok, rant over.

    Thank you for listening!
  • LOL!!! I know it wasn't necessarily meant to be funny, but it made me chuckle a little.

And no, I've never ever seen reruns of TBL EVER, or I'd be watching! I have my DVR set to record TBL and it only ever picks up the new episodes. If there were reruns it would record them.

    Vent away!
  • LoL! Boyfriend and I do the same thing sometimes when we have a show we like at the same time. What we do is try to record the later show, like say it shows at 7 but it will show again at 10 so I just record the 10'o clock episode then watch it later, you know? We take turns on the earlier/later recordings.

Question- does your cable have "On Demand" kind of stuff? Sometimes I find that I don't have to record since it is already on demand though sometimes it can take up to a week for an episode come on up there, ugh.
  • switch to ATT Uverse...we have 2 DVRs and they can record up to 4 shows at a time. problem solved!~
  • First world problems.
  • Quote: First world problems.
    LOL.

But I do understand. Fortunately we've gotten nearly away from cable and watch most of our shows on Hulu/Netflix now on our own computers. But my DH and I used to argue when I'd have my Tivo set to record something and he'd flop down and change the channel. I really flipped when I missed ALL the season finales of CSI, Criminal Minds and Num6ers one year. I had to wait 3 months to see them.
  • Some are very against it, but I watch my tv shows online the day after mainly because my time doesn't work with the time they air, and I can't afford a dvr. AND, where I live, in the boonies, there's no cable. Only satelite and I'd be on my own paying for it. Ergo, no watching it "properly". i've found a good site that updates very quickly and is completely virus free. has shows from the 60s to present time. I'd suggest it ONLY because of your situation. I am by no means supporting or condoneing watching anything online.
