I have not got the flu shot in the last 16 yrs and I choose not to for personal reasons (what's in the vaccine and the long term effects on your body) I got in a huge fight with both my Family Dr and Oncologist this year about my choice to not get both the flu and pneumonia shot since I'm high risk to contract the flu and have potential complications if I do, due to health issues (Diabetes & Cancer) For the first time in those 16 years I got hit with the flu. Bad. Still getting over it and it's moved into Bronchitis and I'm barking like a dog and on inhalers now. Go figure lol

While I had 2 days of a 101-102 temperature and felt like crap I still stand by my choice to not get either shot. I feel the body should work through things and build up as much natural immunity as possible, and even with my health issues I survived the flu of 2012. So far lol But it truly is a personal decision.
