Instead of new luggage, packing some nice black ponte jersey knit that you can roll (not squash or toss in) WILL NOT wrinkle. It's drapey, elegant and inexpensive.

I don't get motion sickness, so not a problem there.
The food on Carnival is so good to me. At dinner, you can get anything from the menu you want and as much of any item as you want. And, if you don't like it, you can return it for something different. The buffets are just so abundant with food it is unreal. They have a Mongolian, Italian, American, Fish and Chips, Sandwiches, Pizza, Deli--all at the same time for lunch. The breakfast buffets are separated into continental, hot, and cold bars. The continental ones have pastries, bread, and such. The cold ones have cottage cheese, yogurt, and fruit. The hot ones have meat, an omelet bar, oatmeal, etc. Defo get a made to order omelet. THEY ARE SOOOOOO GOOD! and you can have them however you want them--all whites or like mine 1 yolk and 3 whites! & if you go back to the same guy in the mornings, he'll remember you!! The Mongolian lunch buffet was my fave. You pick your shiritake noodles, veggies, meat, and sauce and they cook it right there in front of you. They have ALOT of fish and seafood, so if that's your bag, load up on some good seafood while you're there. When you go to dinner, if they have a dessert called Bitter and Blanch-GET 2!!! Basically, the food buffets close for maybe 30min-1hr. They rest of the time, you can get food whenever you want it!! You can even get it delivered to your room for NO CHARGE! If you and DH drink wine, you can take 2 bottles aboard without a charge. You can also carry bottled water, juice, and soda. We just took a case of Diet Coke in the 12 pack case as a carry on & so do alot of other people. |
K9 What is the Bitter and Blanch? Never heard of that.
I'm not sure if I will get seasick. As a child I got car sick a couple of times. But it was 100+ degrees, driving through the dessert in TX going to Mexico, in a car without AC. Get the the picture. :p I didn't actually get sick, my stomach just hurt really bad. Same thing happened when I went on a field trip, riding in the back of a bus. I have been on smaller boats in the ocean, lake, etc and not get sick. I have also been on fair rides and not get sick. I will still take the Dramamine, though. :D |
Bitter and Blanch (pronounced Blanc) is a Carnival exclusive. Chocolate, Brioche' bread, & warm vanilla sauce!

The Bitter and Blanch sounds delish. I heard they also have some type of chocolate cake that's really good.
I probably won't bring wine on board since we probably won't drink a lot. How much is a glass/bottle of lower end wines? We don't drink expensive wines. I'm not sure of the brands that they would have on board, but something equivalent to Sutter Home, Beringer, Corbett Canyon, etc. Also, I heard that they have daily drink specials. What should I be on the look out for? Which drinks are the best? |
Their drink specials are expensive. All of the drinks imho are expensive, but I'm cheap. Wait to drink off shore :)
Have fun & let me know how it went! |
