The way I see it, people change and evolve as time passes. It seems you have outgrown this friend and honey, life is too short to waste on people who dont cherish you the same way you cherish them. I would slowly phase her out if it were me and cherish those who are most important to me :o)

I was in a very similar situation. In fact, *most* of my "friends" were like this. When I met my husband I realized very quickly how I *should* be treated and how I was being treated. I cut them out of my life slowly by just not contacting them. I didn't have to ignore them because they NEVER contacted me! Again, this just showed me that we weren't really friends... I now have a friend/cousin that I haven't talked to since January and who only contacts me of her own volition if our favourite singer/songwriter is in town. I have heard this artist is coming back to town and I expect an email from her... I'm tired of her treating me like a friend when we're clearly no longer in that sort of relationship. It's sad and it's difficult but what else can you do? Life gets complicated and as callous as it sounds, it's easier to simplify. ;)

I love this quote. It says it all.
