Left brainer or right brainer??

So I recently watched a video, you can search it on Youtube, the name is The Right Brain vs Left Brain test - Optical Illusion (I'm not sure if I can paste a link because I'm too lazy to read the rule, and from my previous experiences with some forums, I know link to certain websites are forbade). No matter how long I look replay the vid I can't see how ppl say the dancer is turning counter clockwise, and I must be a right-brainer to see it. I showed it to my sister, and after 3 sec she replied "counter clock-wise". If you ladies ever wonder if you are a left/right brainer I think it's a quick test to determine, not sure if I can totally trust it, but it worth a try, right ;). So how many of you answer counter-clockwise/clockwise?

if you go here: http://frank.mtsu.edu/~studskl/hd/he...dominance.html you can take a little quiz on whether you're left brain or right brain dominant. the link is from Middle Tennessee State University.

the left brain is categorized as:
- language, logic, critical thinking, numbers, reasoning, etc.

the right brain is categorized as:
- expressing emotions, music, color, images, creativity, etc.

i'm wholeheartedly a left brainer, but i also have some right brain attributes.

for example, i'm good with numbers. give me any formula, any variables, and i can find you a solution to any given problem. i have that straight-line thinking of getting from point A to B, whereas a right brainer may need to be shown through examples and images how to get there.

but i also enjoy things such as music and i've inherited a creative streak from my mother who's an artist, though i don't enjoy those things as much as i do working with foreign languages or numbers (creativity is more like a hobby to me).

I had an inkling, but I took the test that Ciao link, and I was right. I am mostly right brained, with a little left thrown in.

kelly315 10-26-2012 12:11 PM

I saw the dancer turn clockwise, which apparently is right brained, but the quiz said i was mostly left-brained.

@Ciao: I took a similar test before the test u mentioned, turned out I'm still using my right brain more than my left brain. to be most certain I took your test, still right brain. Isn't it amazing how our brain perceive things differently?
But now that I think about it, I learn mostly from the example given to me, I was never good with math but if you just give me the graph then I'm good, and my desk is always a mess
@kelly: It's weird, right? one subject, two totally different interpretation. If they did not mention the direction I would never imagine that someone else can see the figure turns counter clockwise.

I saw it like 4 times and it freak me out! Haha I could see it moving both ways. Then I asked my husband which way he saw it and he said "counter clock" when I was clearly seeing it clock wise. Very creepy

Miss Health 10-27-2012 01:02 AM

I'm a mix of both, I love science and logic, but I'm also an artist. Funny how these things work out ;)

LeilaJey 10-27-2012 07:22 AM

I'm a no-brainer ;)

Actually on the test I scored 10-9.

gailr42 10-28-2012 09:58 AM

10 right, 9 left. I was uncertain on quite a few of the questions.

If I am in my own time zone, I always know what time it is. I am curious about why this is.

Quiet Ballerina 10-28-2012 01:34 PM

right 6
left 13

...that's surprising to me.

Steph7409 10-28-2012 10:47 PM

Left 14, right 5. I think I'm a left-brainer with some impulse control issues.

Not all of the traits will apply to you.

Very interesting! I never quite knew which "side" I favored, so it makes sense I'm almost equally both halves :)

I took the test that Ciao linked. I scored similar to gailr42 & LielaJay. 9 right & 10 left. Maybe that is why I'm not really good a math nor arts. I can play & read music, I can balance books, but please don't ask me to draw or do complex math problems. Hmmmmmm...

ADL 10-29-2012 12:04 AM

look up on youtube "dancing ballerina / spinning dancer optical illusion made easy."

ugogurl 10-29-2012 12:35 AM

@ADL:Yup, Ive seen it already. Just a few white line added and I can see her moving both way. So weird.
@MrsTryingagain: But it's cool to maintain a balance, you know, plus not all of us could do math @@
@Leila: haha, I lol at that
