Gift for a trainer?....help.

I have 9 sessions left with my trainer, and I'm wanting to buy her a thank you gift with a card....is that weird?
I mean, we have a great relationship, she's become more like my friend in all of this and she has helped me immensely since I started training with her, so I want to show her my appreciation somehow, I just don't know if it's the right thing to do?
Gift wise, I was thinking a nice thank you card and a gift card for Lululemon, as she loves the workout clothes there.
Any input would be appreciated, thanks in advance! :)

I don't think that is weird or out of line at all. I haven't worked with a personal trainer, but it's kind of like a teacher or mentor, right? And either of those you would give a small gift to. And your choice of gift is thoughtful and appropriate.

Thanks for replying so quickly! Yeah, I figured it would be fine, but I didn't want to do something that was out of the norm, but if it makes sense for me, then I don't see why not. I'll be giving it to her for sure!

Sounds lovely! Very thoughtful!!!

Just make sure the gym you workout at doesn't have a policy against trainers accepting gifts. A billion years ago when I was a trainer one of the gyms I worked at was very strict about that, yet another one I worked at encouraged clients to give the trainers gifts/tips.

If they do have a policy against it you could always mail it to her.

Thank you!

Yeah, I'm not too sure about the policy the gym has, but I know one of their policies, is to not hang out with their clients as well, but her and I have hung out on more than one occasion. Just to be on the safe side, I'll probably just give it to her outside the gym then. I didn't really think of that, thanks!:)

I don't think it's strange at all. I worked out with a trainer for about 6-8 months and we became friends.

At Christmas, I gave her some of my homemade goodies that I gave to others as gift. She went on a mission trip to Africa and brought me earrings.

She was always talking about how good my water looked in my blue water bottle, so at one of my last sessions, I gave her one that was similar.

That reminds me, I need to start working out with her again!
