Arrow Intercom and security buzzer....landline or cellphone?

Our new apartment (happy dance!) has a buzzer and intercom that has to be attached to a phone number. Currently, the fiance and I run on cellphones, as having a landline just seems silly in this day and age. We have a dilemma:

Do we buy a cheap landline simply to stick this intercom and buzzer on?Or do we attach it to one of our cellphones? It's a pain to have to rely on a single cellphone for buzzer/intercom stuff, but at the same time it's a pain to pay for a landline which we wouldn't use!

Thoughts?

Could you buy a really cheap third cellphone and keep it in the house? Otherwise I'm sure it would be really annoying if it's dependent on one person.

Yeah I have a land line and we very rarely use it. Old school or what.

Are you sure you can only attach it to one number? I used to have this system in my last apartment and my roommate and I could each get a listing in the directory and a separate number.

I thought it was great that the buzzer was attached to my cellphone - that way I could buzz people in if we were arriving as a group and I wasn't quite there yet, or if I was outside helping people find the apartment or park.

Our new landlord specifically said only one number.

How much would a landline cost you? If you got one, would you be able to save some money on your cell bills because of it? For example, could you use the landline whenever you're home instead of the cell and then have less minutes on your plan or something? If so, then it might be worth it.
If not...hmm. That's kind of a pickle! I guess maybe decide who's home more often, or who has more visitors, and have the buzzer attached to that number.
Sorry, I wish I could be more helpful!

A 3rd cell line on a family plan is about $13 with taxes. A basic bare bones landline is about $25/mo with taxes in my city. So don't assume that landline is cheaper! I'd say try it with one existing cell first, if it turns out to be a pain, then look into other options and change the number w/ the landlord.
