Nose Piercings - Thoughts?
 

Hi! I am feeling a little of the piercing bug right now and I'm thinking of getting my nose pierced. I've never had anything that wasn't on my ears (2x Cartilage, 2x each lobe, tragus) and I'm not sure it'll suit me! Thoughts?

I had mine done about 5 years ago, took it out after 2 and got it back last summer LOL :) It's awesome !!

I say do it too! I also have a nose piercing. So does my sister and her daughter who is just 18 months just learned how to say 'nose ring'. I asked her where hers is gonna go and she pointed at her nose. I guess it's genetic ;)

Anyway even if you take it out the scar on the nose usually isn't noticeable at all because the pores there are bigger anyway, so yeah if you want, go for it :)

If you want one, go ahead! It would look good on you in my opinion. Plus, it's not like getting a tattoo, you easily just take it off if/when you get bored with it. I have a friend who took her nose ring out and the scar is barely noticeable, I doubt anyone can even see it.

I've had mine for nearing 10 years and I LOVE IT. I work in a corpotate setting too, and I've never had any issue. I wear a small small little diamondy thing, and its so small it only glints and sparkles if you are looking at it the right way. Some people I've known here for years (like, 8, lol) just noticed it recently. :lol:

I've had mine for 7 years. I think they're so mainstream now that, depending where you work, it won't be seen as something that needs taking out. And you can make them as dainty or as fierce as you want using different jewelry! :D

If you're legally of age, I see nothing wrong with doing whatever you want to do (piercings, tattoos, etc.)

However, IMHO, nose piercings look like runaway boogers. Just my opinion!

I've had a nose screw in since 2005 and I love mine. I took it out for a year or two after I had kids, but missed it enough to put it back in. It was a very painless piercing, except for the tear-producing reflex of messing with the nose. But the tears were NOT from pain and I think it healed faster than any of my other piercings, too.

They are definitely mainstream enough now to not cause a flinch. My favored nose screw is gold with a very small diamond on the end, and it is very elegant and dainty. You can go quite dramatic with your jewelry choices, but as a conservative, Christian, homeschooling mom with very young children, I am better suited less gaudy jewelry than more ;). But if a piercing isn't commented on in my social circles, it's pretty much blasé, at this point!

Nose piercings are so subtle but can add a lot of character to an appearance. I think you should do it if you want it. I never see a nose piercing that looks bad on someone, and if you don't like it, you can just pop it out!

How old are you? I'd say it's a younger person thing but that's me. If ya want one go for it. Not really my thing but I was a rebel in Jr. High in the late '80's and pierced my left ear. It was fun. Once in a while I poke an ear ring in the hole and make my kids laugh.

I have Double nostril done, I use neo metal snap system which is fantastic no screwin I use it in almost all my piercings all my smaller ones... And I'm 28

Thank you for all of your input! I see most people love them :) I'm going to get it tomorrow, so excited! I know that my workplace won't mind - I've seen colleagues with much more extravagant piercings so I think I'm safe there.

Good luck! It hurts more than an ear or eyebrow but the recovery time and the fact that you won't be sleeping on your nose = less overall pain!
