I was told once that if you have a kiwi first thing in the morning it should help things get going. Haha I haven't tried that yet though. :)

I wonder if the magic bullet (!) in apples is the pectin? Pectin absorbs water and becomes really slippery, if you've ever had a chance to play with pure pectin powder. Seems like something that could only be helpful to the innards. Good ole black coffee has never failed me in my time of need.
One friend with totally intractable (pun intended?) constipation absolutely swears by EXACTLY seven fat-free Pringles, y'know, with the Olestra. Picture the Monty Python bit - "The count shall be exactly SEVEN. It shall not be six, nor shall it be eight. If the count is six, count one more..." Her tale of how she arrived at seven is beyond hilarious, and should be written up for comedy competition. :D |
I had this problem last year and finally realized that I wasn't eating enough. I was eating around 1200 calories (sometimes less) and went from once a day to once every couple of days. I tried increasing my fiber through foods and supplements but it didn't work. Once I increased my calories, I was back on track.

Just drink lots of water and add more fiber to your diet - such as prunes, wheats and wheat breads and nuts. You can also try over-the-counter fiber supplements.

I don't have any great advice other than making sure that your fiber intake is up (broccoli keeps the world moving for me).
I do have sympathy. I am a very moody pooper in that if I can't go and I want to, I'm not a pleasant person lol |
So, apples did the fix.
I ate an apple with a little bit of peanut butter every day for a few days. My body is already sensitive to peanut butter because of the fat, but a girl has got to do what a girl's gotta do! |
