Giving up for Lent?

Someone at work asked me what I was giving up for Lent today. I shrugged and said nothing since I'm not religious. Then I stopped and thought about it. It would give me 40 days to truly give up something. So here it is. I am giving up my trigger foods: chips, full-fat cheese, and candy--yes chocolate and gummies. God help me around PMS time, but I have a sneaking feeling that I can drop some extra lbs on this alone.

Are you giving anything up?

Nope, not giving anything up for Lent. My plan is pretty strict, so most of the things I would consider giving up have already become rare treats. Good luck on your chips-cheese-candyless lent!

I'm giving up social media (Facebook.) It sucks up a lot of time that I could use towards more productive things.

I haven't really given it much though. Anything unhealthy that I used to eat I no longer do, so I'm thinking maybe I'll challenge myself to exercise a certain amount. I'm Catholic, so I automatically give up meat on Fridays, but we normally have 2 vegetarian meals each week anyway, so it's really not a big deal.

I give up something every year for lent. Last year it was beer. I didn't lose any lbs but my pants fit much better. I think I will give up sweets his year; candy, pastries, etc.

bingeing that's my aim....

OK here goes.... I'm giving up unhealthy sweet treats - so chocolate, cake, cookies, muffins, biscuits etc and also crisps. I am still gonna eat cereal bars, because I need those for energy sometimes.

I'm glad I'm not Catholic! But in reality I'd love to give up drinking for awhile, but I'd need my BF to do it with me. If we drink it is on the weekend, maybe one day, but that's all it takes to screw up a diet! We have cut down quite a bit though since we started our program!

Coffee! Eeeek! Lol. I'm miserable! But, this will pass :-)

OUCH, I couldn't do that. I had to give up coffee for a Narcotics class in college to simulate giving up an illicit drug.......IT SUCKED, but I ended up breaking it because of a 16 hour overnight shift....that was my excuse LOL. Coffee is so delish!

I'm doing this, too. I've done 100-days-OP before, so I know I can do it.. I'm going to buckle down and get out of being obese, so I can be "just" overweight, lol.

Goals during my OPL (on plan lent, lol) are:

*10,000 steps a day - I work in an office and I'm the ONLY person who does my job.. I like to say I'm the mother to 80, because sometimes that's what it feels like, lol... I'm never ever not busy. I've been here about 3 hours, and my phone has rang 15 times. LOL. Sigh. My goal is to walk around for a certain number of steps every time I get up to get my water. I always do this, but I'm going to push my during-the-day-goal from 4K steps at work to 6K steps at work. It's do able, I think.

*No weekends on the upper limit of my calories. I WILL stick to my 1500 a day new limit, even on the weekends. I will drink my water and do my IF on the weekends, too. No longer eating leftover veggie fajitas on saturday morning just because they are OP and waiting for me, lol.

*Finish up 30 day shred, I'm on L1D7.

*Organize the work-out room at home way better and set up my Christmas prestent elliptical. :D

Good luck everyone!
