Need a little help....
 

I'm in my argumentative writing class this semester and I need a topic idea. Something to argue a side on and write my first essay. Looking for some different, out of the ordinary ideas!!!! :)

It looks like you are from Tennessee. If you wanted to do something a little out of the norm, you could write about how the open carry gun law should be repealed there.

Does it have to be serious or can it be tongue-in-cheek? If it has to be more serious that could limit the "out of the ordinary" topics. :(

I wrote an argumentative paper on Polygamy...which maybe isn't that out of the ordinary...but I argued that it SHOULD be legal. Totally got an A.

Hmm ... how about why physical education should be mandated in secondary school?

I did a debate in high school on whether marijuana should be legalized. Maybe not far enough out there for what you're looking for, but is an interesting topic.

this was in the news a little while back and I think there may be a thread on it here, but there was a school that mandated that kids HAD to buy school lunch and were not allowed to bring lunch from home. They claimed that the lunches kid were bringing were so non-nutritious.

It seemed pretty extreme to me! lol!

I did a paper on California's early release program for violent inmates to save money. I used the murder of the beautiful and young Polly Klaas by Richard Allen Davis. Davis was a habitual violent criminal. Lots of info on recidivism on the web. Good luck.
