This NLCS is going to be intense.

It's safe to say these 2 teams can't stand one another.

Last time they met the benches cleared in the 9th inning.

This year Cards and Brewers 9-9.

Back in the good 'ol days Gibson would hit the first Dodger in the ribs then Drysdale would come back and hit the first cardinal in the helmet...now that is baseball...

this crock of waiting until the 9th then pushing and shoving is a joke...;)

heck...those Giants (Marichal) even hit our catcher (Roseboro) over the head with his bat!

Now that's real baseball :)

Clydegirl 10-08-2011 09:26 PM

Ahh yes the good old days :)

XLMuffnTop 10-11-2011 09:57 AM

I've been absent for quite a while but can I just say I absolutely freaking LOVE Nellie Cruz??

EZMONEY 10-11-2011 06:50 PM

Yes you can say that XL....

nothing against the Rangers here except they beat my ANGELS....

pulling for those Tigers to win at least a couple...

a good friend of mine is a childhood friend of Jim Leyland.

We gave them one and I hope that was the only one! I seriously laughed at our DH (catcher) in the 9th spot last night. :D

Clydegirl 10-15-2011 09:30 AM

It's back to Milwaukee.

We need one more against those guys.

Texas looks scary.

I like Jim Leyland.

EZMONEY 10-15-2011 11:36 AM

Texas looks very scary...but the best teams (on paper....Phillies) don't always win....thank goodness!

Go birds go!

EZMONEY 10-15-2011 10:37 PM

These RANGERS are tough XL....real tough!

Clydegirl 10-16-2011 09:59 PM

We just need to get through this game tonight.

Should be over around 1am.

BillBlueEyes 10-17-2011 05:01 AM

Congrats to the Cardinals. Kinda dramatic way to take the prize.

QUICK!!! PM me with the winner....I might wanna lay a bet down!! :D

I will be pulling for those BIRDS being a National League guy but I have to say those RANGERS look like the team to beat if those bats stay hot.....

BillBlueEyes 10-17-2011 09:13 AM

Is the World Series over yet? It's been a while now.

[Thank goodness I'm not such a petty person that I'm glad that the Yanques didn't make it.]

Clydegirl 10-17-2011 09:25 AM

Was that a dream?

World Series bound and I don't have a ticket :( It's on my bucket list.

I was more worried during that game last night, the way the ball was flying, than what I was during game 5 with the Phillies when we won 1-0.

Starters come on we need innings from you guys.

Texas, Welcome to St.Louis.

XLMuffnTop 10-17-2011 09:50 AM

I hope our batting stays hot. We've had our ups and downs with our starting pitchers all year but so long as we can continue to rely on our bullpen I think we might have a shot.

Last year was very painful to make it all the way to the end and not get the World Series victory. :(

BillBlueEyes 10-17-2011 02:05 PM

OK, there's been an agreement; here's the latest:
Frank McCourt gets the 9 Dodgers in the starting lineup.

Jamie McCourt gets the 9 homes from their suite of homes
.

Now Frank is free to decide what to do with his Dodgers (with the minor constraint that Major League Baseball doesn't want that - whatever that is). And Jamie can choose whatever color curtains she wants.

EZMONEY 10-17-2011 04:00 PM

FUNNY STUFF....at least there is movement....that can't be ALL bad!

Another reason to shorten the baseball season by a few weeks....

but then the weather may be better where the game would have been played tonight ;)

Carp should have been left in for the 9th inning.

It's time for a new manager his stuff is getting old.

Turn out the lights again.

Awful, we left early. The first time I have left a game before the end.

Can I just say WOW.

Yes Gary I said all those things back in August and September.

Then something happened. I can't explain it.

I have a parade to go to tomorrow :)

I can't believe you went back though all those posts. Well actually I can.

An awesome game 6. Never seen anything like it. David Freese MVP.

I have to go out and buy some world series gear.

Baseball is a wonderful game.

It's 162 games and you just never know.

EZMONEY 10-29-2011 07:04 PM

LOL Wasn't that hard BIG BIRD I think they were all on page 3!

And I know right where you're coming from...they were toast..but they continued to play and had the fortunate collapse of the Braves.

My Dodgers were at the same point of 10 or 10 1/2 back as your Birds...they went toe to toe with the Cards down the stretch too...I think maybe 1 more loss....but we still finished 10 back or so...the Snakes didn't collapse.

So many times I have seen teams come back from for sure wins to lose and vice versa in all sports. Realistically it wasn't going to happen....you feel foolish even thinking that they could be there in the end...

It usually doesn't when the well is that deep and drying up...

but sometimes...

there is still a cup of water left to bring back life...

and that's what makes it all worthwhile!

Clydegirl 10-30-2011 12:29 PM

There were so many moving parts that made it all happen.

The Rasmus trade, without that our bullpen would have not made it through. Plus we got another starter in Jackson.

The Furcal signing. Enough said. His defense alone improved us. I hope they re-sign him.

Now I have a parade to go to :)

BillBlueEyes 11-02-2011 04:04 AM

Not to change the subject or anything, but

Congrats to the Red Sox, and Congrats to the Dodgers

for each having 3 players earn Gold Glove Honors.

[Without bothering to make post season, LOL.]

Clydegirl 11-02-2011 08:49 AM

So who's going to buy the Dodgers? Gary?

We had one gold glover :)

EZMONEY 11-02-2011 08:17 PM

Well all the talk around here is the same as it has been for a while...

A group effort being put together by Steve Garvey and Orel Hershiser or Mark Cuban.

The way the team was run into the ground financially I think Mark Cuban is way too smart to buy...

and that makes me sad...very...very...sad!

Clydegirl 11-03-2011 11:14 PM

Donald Trump? No.

How about Larry King?

Oprah, she has money.

Congratulations Lance Berkman NL Comeback Player of The Year.

BillBlueEyes 11-11-2011 08:10 AM

Can the Dodgers really be worth One Billion US Dollars???

[I'm in for $100. If a few of you join me, we can be the new owners - with Gary as General Manager, of course.]

BILL todays billion must be the "new" 500 million!

I think the clown paid 421 million of play money so that would be a nice profit...especially since he stole $$$$ from the TEAM for personal use....

allegedly.....:dizzy:

I would gladly GM tomorrow for a hamburger today! :)

EZMONEY 11-11-2011 07:41 PM

Just what the Phillies need...another star pitcher

BillBlueEyes 12-04-2011 06:05 PM

Manny's Coming Back

Perhaps the new Dodgers???

EZMONEY 12-04-2011 07:26 PM

I will be amazed if anyone picks him up, unless he will play for free!

BillBlueEyes 01-04-2012 01:18 PM

It just doesn't stop with 'dem Dodgers.

One Joe Torre is quitting his day job to join a cabal that will attempt to buy the team.

Perhaps they plan to use Manny's money, LOL.

Clydegirl 01-04-2012 08:33 PM

This thread is still going? :p

So who gets Torre's old job? Maybe LaRussa?

EZMONEY 01-04-2012 09:56 PM

Just waiting for someone to...

"show me the $$$$$"

then I'd be willing to sell my 50+ years of loyalty....

I'm only in it for the $$$$$$....

go ahead...

call me...

EZ!
