Ants are a Great Kitchen Help!

Since I live in a wee village, I am, always plagued by flies who come in with the dogs. Last night I noticed two dead flies on the kitchen window sill but they were gone this morning.

I killed a fly this morning and left it there again because my bath as filling. When I went back just now, two ants were busily demolishing it and very little was left. The ants came in because I had spilled some sugar last week.

I may hire them out for cleaning!

 The ants that come into my kitchen during the summertime aren't quite as helpful as yours.

I live in a farm house.
Needless to say there are tons of cracks
and crevasses for them to get into!

But our ants are more annoying than helpful.

I heard that cinnamon helps. Not sure if you can spread cinnamon there but it is a natural solution. Baking soda apparently helps too. I have a cat and he likes to chase and eat them. :-)

Oops, I didn't realize you want to keep them.

I made a batch of cookies one Saturday to take to Church Sunday. I left them on the counter overnight. I got up in the morning to find them covered with ants .I was not happy about this turn of events .

I really don't want to keep them. I just thought it was interesting that they were being so helpful.
(I wonder if they'd eat dust bunnies.)

ants upset me so much. every time i see them i immediately have to pee and want to run away screaming, which i know is weird reaction. ha. i joke but i'm totally serious when i say i'd rather have a bed full of snakes than see one ant in my house!

that said- if they were at least helpful like yours maybe it wouldn't be so bad. haha.

If you crumble a little dry oatmeal and place it near the ant trails, they will take it to their nest and eat it.
It makes their tummies swell up when they drink water...then they die.

:faint:

I tried it and it worked.

But now a different kind of ant showed up, and they don't like oatmeal at all.

So now I have to find something else to get rid of the new ones.
:rollpin:
