I do believe this mom should have been investigated and I'm pleased they stepped in and took her away. I have an 8 year old and by no means do I think she'll need botox. It's illegal to even give your child a tattoo at a young age so that should be illegal also.
Pagents get out of hand and after the Jon Bonet case and seeing Toddler's and Tiaras I don't see the point. The extremes that those stage moms go to to get little girls to look so "dollish" is unreal. |
It isn't just pageants. Think about what parents of child actors and child models do. That is usually just make up, not injections, but it is pressure on the child to excel. Poor kids. Like Kaplods said, it is others as well. It is throughout the pageant. Everyone of those parents are guilty of something. Stupidity and selfishness if nothing else.
Stupid should hurt. |
IMO, those beauty pageants are every pedophiles dream.

Since when do 8 yr olds have wrinkles?
I agree this is unacceptable behaviour. Children should be made to feel valued & attractive without fake enhancements which hide thier natural beauty. |
I just heard on the radio the whole thing was a big hoax. The mom did the story for whatever magazine as a hoax and apparently it spiraled out of control.

I could say something which I truely mean which is beyond I don't think is harsh, but I'm sure someone here would go off the wall on the comment. So I'll leave it to myself and just say I hope that mother get's what she deserves in the end for screwing up her child.

I read the article and it stated that a cousin was staying with them for the time being. It didn't say why. It did state, "All three have been strictly prohibited from contact with silver weather balloons." What does that mean? |
My guess is that the weather balloon comment was a joke, referring to the "balloon boy" hoax where the family pretended that their kid had been blown away with a weather balloon.

Forgot about balloon boy.
Do you think she could be lying now? I would think that they could find out if that kid was in fact in pageants. |
I saw on the news it was all a lie. Social Services took the child & after a medical exam & blood tests found no traces of botox. She then admitted that the Sun gave her a script, paid her some $ and ran the story they made up. GMA heard abt it and offered her 10K to come on. She's really poor and accepted the $ and kept the lie going. But she was totally lying lol. Not worth losing your kid for though.

I understand being broke and having children. Been there, done that, as so many of us have.
However, I still think this is child abuse, botox or not. What the heck did she teach her daughter with this hoax? I know this seems harsh, but she should still lose custody until such time that she can be taught right from wrong (perhaps repeat kindergarten), not to lie, steal, and cheat, and how to be a decent person. Oh nevermind, at her age, it's too late. People never cease to amaze me with their greed and stupidity. Her poor daughter is now the victim of both. |

http://i845.photobucket.com/albums/a...clipart2-1.png I feel the same. Whether it's a hoax or not, I just can't believe anyone doing this to a young child. http://i845.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/clipart2.png |
