Just checking in with a question--

Any of you ever travel alone for games? I usually go to Red Sox home games alone. But would love to experience a new ball park, such as Camden Yards since I'd be able to get cheap tickets to see the Sox play the Orioles and it would be a cheap trip from where I live. I just don't really have any experience traveling alone, so it may be difficult. Any suggestions or personal experiences that you would like to share?

Meanwhile, Sox start 1-7, but they'll win their next 6 and be back to .500 in no time ;) haha

WOO-HOO!!!! Another win for my Sox!!! :cheer2: Listening to the Rockies right now, hoping they bounce back from their loss last night as well as the Sox did.

I have. I went to KC for the Sox series two summers ago. I drove home (central IL) and then drove back here via KC. Went to two games and the Royals fans were super friendly. I stayed at the Sox hotel which is in Country Club Plaza. Went to dinner in the Plaza and saw many of the Sox players out and about. It was a GREAT time though I wish I would have had a chance to explore the area / KC a little more. I plan on going back though so I'm sure I will eventually.

I found out all the info about the best places to stay, what to do, etc. from people on the White Sox message board I belong to. While I'm sure you will get a lot of good information here, I think if you visit the Red Sox message boards (Talk Sox, Sons of Sam Horn and Red Sox Nation) and pose your question there, you will get the best information for a great BoSox experience in another city. Have fun!

Lindsay I heard that Camden Yards is a really nice ballpark.

I haven't gone to away games on my own so can't help you there.

Manders we went to Kauffman last year for the Cards series. There were more Cards fans than Royals fans. A fun weekend at a nice ballpark. That jumbotron is huge.

REALLY liked the ballpark. Hadn't been there prior to the renovation so I don't know how much nicer it got but thought it was great. Very inexpensive tickets (poor Royals) and I was right behind home plate for both games. The beer guy for my section remembered me after I bought my first beer, mainly because of my CO driver's license and I was the only person he sold Coors Light to, and took amazing care of me. Every Royals fan around me for both games, not that there were many (poor Royals) were so nice. Some friendly ribbing but mostly just great conversation. If the Sox weren't here this season, I would be going there for my yearly regular season Sox series. Next year though!

Not surprised there were more Cards fans (poor Royals). :D

Darn Baltimore! Texas lost their undefeated status and got shut out the first game of a double header.

I can take solace in the fact the second game is in the 7th inning and we're up 9-1. :carrot:

Rockies win!

Having both my favorite teams win makes my days infinitely better. They need to keep it up! :D

So our "closer" has now blown 3 saves out of 4.

Are you kidding me?

I'm having flashbacks of Izzy.

Franklin is not a closer. When will Tony LaRussa realise that.

Unbelievable :(
