This one is for you Big Bird

Bob Gibson
is the luckiest pitcher I ever saw. He always pitches when the other team doesn't score any runs. ~ Tim McCarver

I was just a kid when he was around but he was a great one!

He was the best.

OK that was the worst bullpen meltdown I have ever seen.

We need major help. Who can we get?

Also there is nothing that annoys me more than "The Wave".

We're in the 8th inning, 2-1 game and they are doing the wave. Give me a break people.

Terrible end to a well pitched game. Lost 10-2 :(

Stop the presses.

The Dodgers money problems are solved.

According to the East Coast press (which is suspected of being biased against California) seems that California has ceased paying its legislatures. Came about because of a supposed "Proposition 25" which says something like no balanced budget by June 15th means no pay and no per diem. So, the state has all that money to spend somewhere.

I modestly suggest that the state of California carry the Dodgers payroll during this period. The players will then be motivated since they were consuming the tax payers money - OK at least as motivated as workers at the Registry of Motor Vehicles who renew license plates.

Feel free to use this idea - no charge.

Great idea BILL ~

Anyone wanna bet who sinks first...my state or my team?

Sweetcaroline 06-22-2011 03:16 PM

Hi Guys,
Padres are here and we are in 'another' rain delay, they may end up playing a night game afterall.

Boston's focus is back on baseball after all the craziness. Still in a tight race for the top of Al East.

Clydegirl so sorry about Pujols, that stinks, but a clean break is better than a stubborn sprain, torn tendon etc. Hopefully the break will heal fast and be done.
Our DL seems to be growing too. :(

Enjoy your games everyone :corn:

Cards released Batista today.

Now they need to get rid of some of the others in that bullpen that are useless.

EZMONEY 06-22-2011 08:18 PM

Well dang!

Clydegirl 06-25-2011 10:51 PM

Yeah we miss Albert.

"Tie goes to the runner" - or whatever. So your Dodgers sank first. Or so the, presumably prejudiced, East Coast news is declaring.

And to break the heart of so, so many lovers of baseball, the largest unsecured creditor is Manny, for $20 Million.

Here's an idea: I pledge $100 via PayPal toward buying the team at auction, provided you collect the pledges from all of us on the 3FC baseball thread and handle the details. Not sure that I'd be a very good manager of baseball, myself.

EZMONEY 06-27-2011 08:30 PM

BILL that Manny being Manny thing will just not die.....

bankrupt at the bank and the pitching rotation....

Clydegirl 06-27-2011 11:27 PM

I'm watching game 1 of the College World Series.

What a fun game. Some great plays at the plate.

Great pitching and defence.

Yeah the Dodgers may be in court but after last nights game I'm thinking the Twins need to do something different. I'm going with that we wanted the Dodgers to feel better about themselves last night?!?! UGLY!!

Oh, I am new and if I'm not suppose to be here let me know. Just a huge baseball fan so this thread seemed interesting.

Welcome Redhead, the more the merrier.
