My BP is all over the place
I'm still having problems with this Atrial Fib thing. It has been about 9 months now. I've been monitoring my BP. When I have a good diastolic and pulse, the systolic is way up. Last night, for some reason, it took 4 or 5 times to get the monitor to get a reading. My systolic was great but the diastolic was way up and the pulse was around 150.
I'm on all sorts of meds and will see the dr tomorrow and report all this. I miss my WATP but I'm not allowed any physical activity right now. Enough whining. |
I'm sorry, Mare. I'm glad you're tracking it though and I hope your doctor can help you get better.

That's rough I've have had problems with AF off and on and I'm at high risk because my dad had really bad problems with AF and it was the side effects of one of the medications he was on for it that eventually did him in. Be sure to research any medication they put you on seriously.

I don't have insurance but I started getting extremely dizzy when I tried to exercise for awhile and if I got really upset my heart would feel like it was going to break out of my chest and no matter what I did it would not slow down for hours. I got really scared and was told by relatives to check my heart rate. Apparently it was resting at 125 BPM. o.o I cut out all caffeine and started doing regular meditation and the dizziness problem went away. I was drinking 6 cups of coffee a day which is probably what was aggrevating things but I know people who drink 2 pots a day and don't have problems so I didn't realize it could have that bad of an effect on me. My heart still goes haywire every once in blue moon but I just try not to worry about it. I know its stupid to do that because I should be on medication but since the medications pretty much killed my father I want to avoid them like the plague. At least my sleep apnea has gone away since I lost the weight now that stuff was scary.
I had no idea Icy Hot Patches could do that to people. That's crazy! I hope you feel better! |
My dad has been cardioverted several times. They give him some pentothal when they do it and he says it's a piece of cake. It has always converted his rhythm back, sometimes they have to do it more than once in a session, but otherwise has worked well for him. He is on meds but is 82 years old, so sometimes slips back into atrial fib.
