Scale trouble

  • Hi. I don't go to a WW club or anything like that so am weighing myself. I'm having a bit of trouble with scales though. My old set tell me I weigh 15stones and 13lbs. However they're a bit old and so I though I'd treat myself to a new set yesterday. However my new set tell me I weigh 15 stones 7 lbs. Which is quite a difference!!

Should I accept the new digital ones as being right? Or the old ones?

    V. Confused.
  • I suggest you consistently use one scale. Regardless of its accuracy, it will show a difference when your weight changes.
  • Thats what I was thinking too.
  • just go with whichever scales you will be using, find a place for them on a hard floor preferably, and leave them there. uneven floors can giving a reading thats way off. remember that the scale is just a number we use to measure if our weight is going up or down, each scale has different accuracy so its important to only use one, and keep it in the same place.
  • Is there another one somewhere (dr. office, gym, friend's) that you can weigh on them around the same time of day - the other one and your two and see which one is closer to the other weight? I did that when I bought a new scale and my stupid weight jumped up several pounds a few years ago ... unfortunately it was my new one that was a closer weight match to the one in the dr. office.
  • i would assume a brand new scale would be more accurate. do you have some hand weights? if so take a hand weight and stick it on the scale and see what it says. one of them should accurately say how much the weight ways. the other should be horribly off. if they both get it right which is very doubtful weigh yourself on one of those really large scales people put in front of the groccery stores or at the gym.
  • Oooo the handweight idea is good. Thankyou
