Spring Training

It may be 6 weeks until the season starts but Spring Training is finally upon us :D

Everyone getting ready. The sun is shining, well here anyway.

Where are all the baseball peeps?

Slashnl 02-14-2011 12:27 PM

I'm here!!! I'm so looking forward to baseball. It is refreshing here in Colorado to have the Rockies in such a non-turmoil state. What with the Broncos and their shake-ups and the Nuggets issues with Carmelo... it's just nice to look toward the Rockies and their normalcy. (I hope I didn't just jinx them!!)

Where's all the rest of baseball's finest thread chasers?

Clydegirl 02-14-2011 02:44 PM

I'm tired of all this drama over Pujols.

Don't be greedy.

Clydegirl 02-15-2011 09:06 AM

Today is Stan The Man Musial's day.

He will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom at The White House.

I heard about that. Very cool!

Clydegirl 02-16-2011 09:20 AM

Diane looks like it's just you and I.

Today is D-Day.

I'm 50-50 on this whole situation. The Cards are "damned if you do damned if you don't".

Clydegirl 02-16-2011 03:00 PM

Could everyone just calm down.

We still have spring training to get through and a full season of baseball.

Nothing will get done until then.

I saw this on TV... very cool ceremony..

Sweetcaroline 02-16-2011 05:22 PM

Its Here... Its Here...

Slashnl 02-16-2011 05:27 PM

Clyde: Wow, tempers are flying in your area! This Pujols thing is crazy!

Oh and then I saw a photo of the starting pitchers for Philly sitting together at a press conference. Wow. That's scary. They've got quite the lineup.

People are going crazy. Everyone needs to take a chill pill.

So are the Phillies the team to beat?

Please. The Cubs are going to win the pennant this year. :spin:

BillBlueEyes 02-16-2011 10:00 PM

Clydegirl - So I had to go read all about it. Why don't you just pony up the money and keep the big guy?

[Private note to Sweetcaroline: Is there room in the Red Sox Nation lineup for Free Agent Pujols?]

Slashnl 02-17-2011 10:50 AM

Ya, it's kind of fun watching the Cards drama from afar. You have to wonder what amount of money is ever enough?

Clydegirl 02-17-2011 02:18 PM

Bill if only it was that easy. The Red Sox have the money but you don't need a 1st baseman.

The big man has spoken and there will be no more discussion until the end of the season.

Hi Theo. I saw Theriot at winter warm up. He will look good wearing the birds on the bat.

Clydegirl 02-18-2011 03:36 PM

Jim Edmonds is retiring :(

I wish he could have played one last game with the Cards.

I think there is Bill... :Dbut if Clydegirl loses Albert coupled with Edmonds retiring... we might be coaxing her off a window sill...

I think we still have some melting issues to get through with Diane ... and Gary has to have his Nascar thingy... but here we go !

Sweetcaroline 02-18-2011 09:29 PM

Hi Theox..
Are you Theo Epstein ? If so, I've got a few questions for you... :)

Me? I'm just a little ol' ox. I don't know nothing. Nothing!

BillBlueEyes 02-19-2011 10:41 AM

What was then name of that team that beat the Lakers for the last game before break? A Midwestern team?

Geeze, Lousie! What does Jack Nicholson have to say about that?

EZMONEY 02-19-2011 03:06 PM

I can't remember their name off the top of my head Bill...but I hear they once had a King but he made a "decision" and left.....

Sweetcaroline 02-20-2011 08:31 PM

I love that New England has a sports TV station...
I watched live BP today and saw lots of interviews... yay NESN !

EZMONEY 02-20-2011 10:25 PM

Have fun this week TEAM.....I will be in 90210 and Hollywood with the beautiful people and crazies...

Slashnl 02-21-2011 11:41 AM

Good to see you again Gary. We were worried about you. Well, Bill wasn't, but the rest of us were worried.

I'm so ready for baseball. It is time!!!!! I'm soooo tired of hearing about Carmelo and the Nuggets!

Clydegirl 02-22-2011 07:27 PM

:censored:

:(

:tantrum:

Adam Wainwright, our number 1 starter, is on his way back to St. Louis with a significant elbow injury.

No, no , no.

manders01 02-23-2011 11:06 AM

Late to the party but super excited that the spring season is upon us. Feeling very good about both my teams - the White Sox (lifelong fan) and the Rockies (hard not to love a team like them plus they don't play the Sox that often so don't have to worry about cheering against them). Think the Sox are the team to beat in the AL Central, love the additions Kenny made in the off season.

Have pretty much cancelled my usual trip down to PHX to check out the Sox. Can't afford it when I'm trying to start two businesses. I typically go the St. Patrick's Day weekend to see the Sox at home against the Cubs on the Friday with a good friend who winters in AZ and then whoever the Sox play on Saturday and Sunday. But got the brilliant idea to go down in the morning and come back the evening of the Friday game so I still get to enjoy and be back home for the St. Patrick's Day parade the next day. But have to find a smokin' flight deal for that. Although disappointed that I may not make it, since the Sox have a series here this season, I will at least see them in person 3 times.

Now working on getting my opening day tickets. First time in a while I wasn't chosen for the ticket lottery. But I'm sure I'll find something reasonable. Regardless, will still have my annual Beer & Pancake Tailgate at my house before the game prior to walking over to the ballpark.

Yay for baseball season!!! :cheer2:

Sweetcaroline 02-23-2011 08:18 PM

tinamariex16 02-23-2011 11:04 PM

After a seriously disappointing Patriots season ending.. I am MORE than ready for baseball season to start.

Dear Red Sox, please don't let me down.

BillBlueEyes 02-24-2011 04:06 AM

Feels as unbiased as Fenway Park around here, LOL.

Clydegirl 02-24-2011 01:31 PM

Adam Wainwright is out for the season. He will have Tommy John Surgery.

Anyone have a pitcher they want to give up?

Hello Manders. White Sox my favourite Chicago team.
