Ferngully was one of my favorites, and I liked Rockadoodle quite a bit, too! Like everyone else I know around my age, I also had a major thing for The Mighty Ducks (and numbers 2 & 3). And The Little Giants. But even more than the sports movies, I absolutely loved fantasy movies like Flight of Dragons and The Last Unicorn.
I'm going to vote for The Last Unicorn, too. Fantastic movie!
Has she seen "How to Train Your Dragon" yet? I found that one a lot more charming than I expected to. Some parts might be a little alarming for very young kids (some dragons look a little scarier than others), but it's overall pretty sweet.
If you can find "The Phantom Tollbooth," it still holds up even though it's over 40 (indeed, a lot of things over 40 still look great ).
loved me some goonies and the explorers.. howabout mr boogedy hehe i never did watch age appropriate movies so i am probably not much help, i remember watching the exorcist when i was no more than 3 or 4.
none of our kids have seen how to train your dragon yet. i'm sure they want to.
i watched parts of mary poppins with them. she really loves music. she'll sing songs by memory all the time.
i've had part of a rockadoodle song in my head, but i can't ever sing something outloud out of my head. same with drawing. i can sing and draw, but not without the words/pic in front of me. that's such a great talent to have.
over the summer i watched lots of cartoons i loved when i was a kid with my daughter. i'm a late 80's/90's child. so whinnie the pooh, rainbow brite, smurfs, care bears, my little pony, strawberry short cake. (still my fav. kind of cake.) they have newer versions of some shows or play the old ones on the 'hub' and 'boomerang' channels.
I loved the Studio Ghibli films, like Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Spirited Away.
Nightmare Before Christmas was also one of my favorites, and Iron Giant too.
Haha, one of my favorite things about babysitting is rewatching my old favorites.
Just about anything by Disney when I was a kid - in the Jurassic Era. EXCEPT Old Yeller - I was scarred for life by that movie I swear. Love Mary Poopins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang too
