Stuck in house. Ready for Spring.

The kids and I are so tired of it being cold! What are you best winter time activities for young children? (2-4)

I don't have any suggestions for the kids. I just wanted to commiserate with you. I live in South Dakota and the snow here is *** deep on a 10 foot indian (my dad used to say that, RIP dad). LOL! I am so SICK of winter!!

I'm from South Dakota as well, and I now live in North Dakota to go to school, but I am so sick of shoveling snow! And the fact that doing anything outside is basically a no go.

I told my parents I was going to look for a boyfriend just so he could help me shovel snow! :P

I have an almost 3 year old and a 5 year old. I can relate! We do a lot of games, reading, crafty stuff. We have a Wii and play that together sometimes.

A few days ago my son (the 5 year old) asked me to teach him to sew. We've been working on a superhero cape. :)

Oh we are ready for spring too! We have been doing a lot of library trips and play-doh. Wii and board games, movies and even bundling up and building snowmen, and sledding but I cant wait to get the bikes out!

I 'm in WI
My kids are now olde rnow but, we have gone sleding, just tramping though the snow looking for tracks, making snowmen, forts. Indoor things, we loved to go bowling, just ask for bumpers for the little kids.

Hope this helps

My kids are a few years older (6 & 8) but at that age, we did lots of obstacle courses (house-friendly) and dancing to music. Tracing oursleves on huge sheets of paper and then coloring them, baking (something healthy) or making fun dough that they could roll and and cut out and then paint when they were done baking.....Hope these ideas help!!

When my kids were little, we would go to the library, get together with other families with similar ages to play, get big appliance boxes to play with indoors, build indoor forts, bake, craft, go visit grandma (luckily she is close by), play board games, read books, play charades, sledding, build snow forts with the neighbor kids, you get the idea. Winter sucks here. I tried to sign my kids up for as many kinds of cheap/free activities that we could do.

Haha, we had fun the other day. We went snow painting. I just put a little food coloring and water into some spray bottles we have and just let them spray the snow with it. It was kind of pretty. :)
