Travel

Ladies, one of my goals for 2011 is to do more travelling. Last year I was able to make it out to London for a few days, and it was beautiful! I had so so SO much fun, but now i've been bitten by the travel bug, and I really want to go somewhere fabulous.

PLUS, it's been super super cold here, and all i can think about are warm sandy beaches, with crystal blue water, and pina coladas. ahhh paradise!!

What's on your list of travel destinations?

I've been to Belize, Greece, China, Antarctica, Peru, Chile, Switzerland, Germany, Mexico and various parts of the US.

I'd like to go to Italy, Ireland, Turkey, Morocco, Peru (my visit was short, I'd like to go to Machu Picchu), Galapagos, Bhutan, India, Prague, New Zealand and probably a few other places.

How did you like Belize? I've heard it's amazing!

i want to go to Japan and Ireland - and somewhere nice and warm and beachy but not mexico or hawaii. i'm not sure where though.

Belize was my most recent trip and it was amazing. We were in the jungle although we did go out to a private island for some amazing snorkeling. Sad part about Belize is their rain forest is going fast due to burning the land for cattle. They still have lots of jungle farms but it is more profitable to sell beef to richer countries than sell bananas, cacao and other traditional rain forest crops. I think their government understands the value of tourism so there have been some ecological steps taken but they have a long way to go.

I just got back from Germany, visiting a friend in Mannheim/Heidelberg and then meeting other friends in Berlin. I am addicted to Europe and I've been there 7 times all purely for vacation and tourism. I personally love Germany but it's hardly paradise and I go mainly because I have friends there. Paris is nice and the south of France is really pretty and idyllic with tasty food and nice scenery. There are a lot of places I haven't been to that I want to try.

I live in Japan - it's nice here, the best and most expensive times to visit are March/April or October/November. Spring and fall here are divine and almost make me forget how MISERABLE winter and summer are.

I'm interested in the Mediterranean/Middle East region - Beirut, Tel Aviv, Damascus, Croatia, etc.

I've been to a good majority of the US, a good majority of Canada, Ireland, Mexico, and Aruba.

I would love to go to England, Italy, Scotland, Iceland....pretty much anywhere in Europe. I would also really like to travel to Japan some day. My brother in law is in the Air Force and he could be stationed there in the future. That would be very convenient ;) LOL

I really want to visit all 50 states and all Canadian provinces (only Alberta and Newfoundland are left!)

Okay, not sandy beach ... but I have to say it ... here it goes ....

PRAGUE!!!!!

This was part of Mr. NYGG's and my honeymoon, and it is the most amazing place I've ever seen.

I've always wanted to visit Prague, especially after seeing that terrible Vin Diesel movie "xXx." Might have to the next time I hop over to Europe.

Southern Spain is gorgeous and lovely and warm this time of year (and the Canary Islands cus they're close to Africa) and I'm totally not biased because my mum's family is from Spain or anything (But seriously, it's awesome)

I second that. I lived in Prague for 3 years and it is the most magnificent city in Europe.

I used to live in Japan! I loved it, and I'm dying to go back sometime soon.

Prague is definitely on my list too! And Costa Rica!

I'm off to the Caribbean in T-3 weeks. :)

I have a friend who lives in Costa Rica. That's on my list. But, first and foremost? Scotland. I've wanted to go to Scotland since I was a wee teen watching "Highlander" for the first time.

I took a week in the Western Caribbean at the beginning of December...so lovely! So warm! It was a rude shock coming back to 30 degree temps after being in 80 degree weather the whole week.

On my list: Italy, Spain, Ireland, Thailand. Got to cross off Greece and Paris last year, which was awesome.

Where did you live? It's ok here but I can't imagine ever becoming a Japanese citizen. The suicide rate is high for a reason!

PetitePowerhouse, I also really want to see the Scottish Highlands and run around the hills painted blue. Sadly northern Scotland/the Hebrides/Faroe Islands is a wasteland of knife crime and junkies these days, so I'd probably need a real sword if I pursued that fantasy.
