The need to vent.

I'm hoping to make this short, but I need to put down some history before I actually get to the venting. Bear with me!!!

I've been married for 24 or something years and I've been dreadfully fed up with the marriage for the last, I don't know, maybe 10 years.

So, here's the venting.

We have a bed that his deceased parents left us from 1986!
Plus, the years that they had the bed......don't know!!!

The bed is completely and totally shot. It sags on the sides, it sinks in the middle and it has killed my back (which I've had two surgeries on) to the point of me buying a futon with TWO mattress and now sleep in the family room.
I have slept there for the past, four/five years!! And let me tell you, four/five years of no.........ya' know!! Doesn't bother me a bit, because quite frankly, don't care too much for it!! :o:rolleyes:

Now, my dear, adorable, great to get along with (there is A LOT of sarcasism in that statement), husband has back pain, so he says to me, "I'm going to have to buy a new bed."

:censored::censored::club::club::club::censored:

Oh Lord, take away all the sharp objects or I may just have to kill this :censored: man. :censored:

Thanks, I needed to get that off my chest. :D

Coondocks 01-04-2011 02:43 PM

MiZTaCCen 01-04-2011 02:47 PM

What a douche...Kick him in the balls. As long as your done with them haha :D

lazylioness 01-04-2011 02:52 PM

you should go buy a brand new bed, put it in the family room and drag your futon bed into his bedroom.

Problem solved.

He has the bed he has been perfectly fine letting you sleep on for years and you get your new bed. YAY

annie175 01-04-2011 03:08 PM

lazylo, great answer.

seagirl 01-04-2011 03:12 PM

Go buy a new bed. Put it in your new apartment. Visit your friendly neighborhood divorce lawyer and don't waste another 10 years choosing to stay in a dreadful marriage!

Then find someone that you will enjoy your new mattress with!

Ya' a real gem.

Ya' I thought it was pretty crusty myself. But, I've "put up" with so much from this man that I'm kind of numb. But that comment about HE having to buy a new bed just hit me comically. I've gotten to the point where I hear him :blah::blah::blah: either with his sarcastic remarks, his arrogant remarks, his mean remarks and now I just laugh. It drives him crazy. :D

My "plan" is to use this year to get myself into a healthier lifestyle and a healthier weight and then I'm hitting the road. Enough is enough. :carrot:

Why not hit the road sooner and lose a few hundred pounds instantly! ;) Life is too long to spend it miserable.

men can be such asses sometimes. i have had major back problems since i was a child. when my husband and i moved in together we got a cheap bed and it died within a few years. well, when his side collapsed, he made me trade places with him because "your back hurts all the time already, so why should i suffer too?" gee thanks.

we got a new mattress and it's nice a big. i can lay on my side- put my arm all the way out- and not touch him even though he's in bed too. it's glorious. :)

When my ex and I got together, he insisted on using the bed which he and his ex had used for who knows how long. It was a water bed which was past its best - it was awful. Really hot in the summer and constantly swished. Anyway, it sprung a leak which couldn't be fixed. I was delighted. (And no, I didn't help the leak.) We could finally get a normal bed that didn't have a history.

Unfortunately, the new bed didn't help our situation, we finally separated and I am so much better off without him. It's a shame, the Captain didn't go down with his ship. (No, he wasn't naval, he was something else!)

I really think that when couples get together, combining furniture is one thing but using a bed with a bad history should be avoided.

Twiddlebug 01-05-2011 11:36 AM

I hear ya, oh I do. However, you never mentioned if he *refused* to buy a new bed prior? You obviously bought a futon...at that time did he reject getting a new mattress set?
