I'm reading *Quicksilver* by Neal Stephenson. It's very hard to get through, but I love everything else I've ever written by him, so I'm plugging along.

I feel like that all the time. Rats with wings.

No shortage of pigeons in Boston...

Star Island is great. I heart Carl Hiaasen.

I've been reading Allies and Enemies: How the World Depends on Bacteria, by Anne Maczulak for the past couple of weeks. It was a free download on Amazon for my Kindle. It's really interesting. I must admit, it's a bit dry and reads like a textbook, but I will never think of bacteria the same way- oddly enough, I think it's help me overcome my germophobia. :)

One Day by David Nicholls which I absolutely adore.

Last great read before this was Talking to Girls About Duran Duran by Rob Sheffield (who also wrote Love is a Mix Tape, which I recommend to everyone I meet.) Love, love, love this guy and his writing is bittersweet and beautiful.

Diamond in the Ruff by Emily Carmichael. I must be into dogs because on deck is The Lost Dogs, the story of Michael Vick's pit bulls and where they are now

I know it's not December anymore, but I'm (still) reading The Queens Fool, by Phillipa Gregory
