The "Barefoot Deacon" passed away
 

His family went to my childhood church. I was close to his 2 older kids. John and Naomi lived in a little house on Pensacola Beach and would have mobs of us from church over there. He taught I don't know how many of us to water ski. I truly believe that God puts certain people on earth to touch our hearts and give us wonderful memories of what a family is. He was in his early 80s. I signed the guest book and found another childhood friend had signed it. We are now emailing.

He was a Gideon. What do those people do besides put Bibles in motel rooms?
