People have some nerve! I swear! It never ceases to amaze me, how blatantly rude and ignorant people can be!

So my husband and I finally got a much needed night out at a local casino. A friend of ours got us a room at the casino hotel, and we had a great evening. We actually didnt get to bed until around 5 a.m! He was getting very lucky on the roulette table, and I was spending it on the machines as fast as he could make it on the table, lol.

Check out was at 11 a.m. and of course we walked out of our room with about 3 minutes to spare. Wonderful night! Didnt lose a dime, and had a great time......UNTIL ........we reached the elevator.

There was a lovely older couple waiting to get on the elevator. We were on the 6th floor, and the only floor above us were the casino suites. It took an unusually long time for the elevator to come, i suppose due to all the checkouts at the same time.

My husband is 6'4 every bit of 380 lbs, and of course here I am at 310 now, and we are standing right in front of the elevator door. After a few minutes of conversation here comes the elevator, and the doors open. It is packed, I would not have set foot on that elevator if I weighed 75 lbs! But that is neither here nor there!......What do you think I hear? Some snobby old "BLEEP" say from inside the elevator, GASP......"OH MY GOD, I DON'T WANT THE CABLES TO SNAP!"

I looked at my husband and said i'm taking the "BLEEPING" steps! And that's exactly what I did!. He followed after me, and we trekked down, 8 flights of steps to the parking garage. The whole time I am thinking I cannot believe yet again, I am utterly appalled by someone's obvious disregard for another human being!

My husband said I over reacted, the elevator was full, and she just didnt want ANYONE else to get on. I say she wasnt worried that the elevator had ALREADY exceeded the weight capacity, she was just worried two fatties would snap the cable......

So to you lady, all I can say is Karma is a "?!#@&" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would have been mad too but what would have been funnier is if you had tried to go on and REALLY freaked her out lol!

Sheesh what a jerk though.

aw well, forget about it. people make fun of people for every reason, including weight.

you should have gotten on anyway, sniffed around after a minute and said, "do you smell feebleminded old people?? I'm allergic to feebleminded old people, let me off this thing, i could die!"

What a b!tchy thing to say. She's not 8 years old, she should have the manners to keep her mouth shut!

I think in a situation like that I would have looked her in the eye and threatened to eat her.

But, seriously. There's no reason for such immaturity. The old snob should have kept her mouth shut. I would have gotten on, and asked if anyone wanted to dance and then shook the elevator around. lol. Nah. I probably would have done the same thing you did, but it would be a funny thought.

You are right... Karma is a !@#$%.... for them for being rude, and for you (in a good way) for taking the high road... and the stairs!!! Way to go you!!!

and i got summoned to jury duty too! damnit!
