My Boyfriend, Novice Chef
I just got a text from my boyfriend. He has been trying to cook a piece of chicken for the last half hour. I know my way around a kitchen, and asked him what he was doing, as I don't think it's ever taken me half an hour to cook a chicken breast (except for that one time I didn't turn the burner on.)
Apparently, he is cooking it in a pot. With water. Like an "I'm cooking spaghetti" amount of water.
I'm

D'awwwww!!! Well, technically he's...I dunno, stewing it? Heheheh.
I think someone like him would have fun with a Foreman grill. Taught many of my male friends how to cook simple things, and then they finally graduated to using actual pots, woks and legit grills. I'm so proud!

Nebuchadnezzar - That's a good idea. Maybe for Christmas... in the meantime, I should probably show him what a skillet looks like, lol.

Well. chicken stew isn't that bad, needs some vegies , though. Hint buy him a cookbook for Christmas, they have them for people just learning to cook.

I cook chicken like that all the time. Of course I add an onion or two and some carrots. Then I shred the chicken for enchiladas and save the broth for soup. I'd think pan sauteing would have been a better choice!

LOL. At least he is trying. Perhaps you can bookmark some simple online recipes.
Also, the library is a great source for cookbooks.

Ha! That is so cute. I second the George Forman idea. I got one for my boyfriend and he uses it daily and thinks he's a master chef now. Ha!

He wasn't even going to make soup or anything out of it. He wanted a piece of chicken to cut up in his salad! I have to give him points for trying, though.
