  • Well TEAM we have been asked to start a new thread on the day one of our favorite stars retires

A sad day for baseball today as Ken Griffey Jr. retires...

whether or not you liked the Mariners or the Reds you had to love Junior

Injuries took away a lot of his potential...but did you ever hear anything bad about him?...nah....

I bet my son still has 10 never out of the box rookie cards of him

Not worth much because of the abundance of them but what wonderful memories for me and my son collecting his first favorite player other than a DODGER

Good times....baseball...good times for dads/sons...moms/daughters....grandpas and grandmas....

and that is why we are here!

    And by golly be proud

I remember when our very first baseball thread made it all the way to the play-offs before we hit 500.....

    post on TEAM.....
  • How about that TEAM...

My DODGERS win in 14 innings...1-0....

won last night in 10 innings 1-0....

    sorry AZ...

    on second thought...nah....
  • Found it.

Now to see if the others find their way here.

Rex Sox Nation is on a roll of late. If we keep this up we could look like a baseball team.
  • So we were locked up again eh'... I like the new diggs...

Dice K on the mound tonight... so its a whirlwind game...

    Day baseball tomorrow..

    then Celts vs. Lakers...
  • Ortiz just got a homer - Red Sox now ahead.
  • I found it.

Playing the Reds tonight. We won't get to see Ken Griffey Jr when the Mariners come to visit.

Umpire in the news tonight blowing the call on the perfect game. No wonder Jim Leland was mad. Feel bad for the pitcher.

Stinky call in Detroit... is right... 2 out in the ninth and you get a call like that... I always want the pitcher to get those kind of calls... I even felt bad for Andy Pettite (NYY) years ago against the Sox, he was in the ninth and we ruined it...

I'm lovin Dice K tonight... (sounds like a country song) LOL...
  • Gary... all of Fenway is yelling beat LA, beat LA... kinda cool don'tcha think ?

I love to hear it! Baseball ~ basketball ~ football....doesn't matter! As long as people everywhere keep saying it I know my teams are doing all right!

Angie and I watched the last inning of the Detroit game on MLB channel...WOW!

Angie jumped out of her chair when the call was made...horrible call...he was wrong...but even if he saw it as a tie...in that situation it goes to the pitcher...

My son called about 3 minutes after to see if I saw it...he heard it...said both sports stations he was listening to coming home were livid!
  • My son called me to say the ump said it was the biggest call of his career and agreed he blew it, after seeing the replay.....he said he ruined a perfect game for the kid....

probably had a glove in his face like my nephew did on Sunday
  • Back to the old thread...SHANNON....Troy played high school ball for one of our local schools...a big fan favorite around here
  • Found it, too! I don't have much to say, though. I know the Rockies lost, but I didn't see any of it.

Junior College world series continued. Big drama last night when they ejected Bryce Harper. Bryce is the 17 year old phenom that they think will be the number 1 draft choice. While he did something fairly stupid, I am sorry that he was ejected. He has to be out for two games, so he's probably done for the tournament, depending on how it plays out. I guess he showed that he is only 17 last night and didn't have good judgement.
  • Found the new thread!

Gary - Troy got a little flak in ATL early this season, but DH was just waiting.... Said that he would be just fine once he settled in. And so he is!

Wow, that was a terrible call for that Detroit pitcher. I'm new to baseball and I could see it on that replay. The shot that showed the pitcher's face fall when he realized what was going on was pretty tragic.
  • Diane what did he do to be ejected? What position does he play?

Shannon we liked Glaus when he was here then he was on the DL most of last year. He's a good hitter when he's hot.

    Day off today.
  • Alright Dbacks management has called a for a press conference today at 2pm fingers crossed the are shaking up the coaching staff. To Mr. AJ Hinch you are the worst manager in baseball don't let the door hit you in the bum on the way out.
    PS your a BUM.

I hope everyone has a great Thursday.
