Default Online Classes

Some of you already know parts of my situation, as in I have no job, no income of my own, etc, and this is not so much about that so I won't get into it again but rather I am wondering if there is a way to take online classes for no money at all?

Well if you just want to take classes for information iTunes has classes from different universities listed. I listened to a couple of them and was impressed with the information. You can download iTunes to your computer if you don't already have it - FREE, got to the iTunes store and click on the iTunesU tab. There are lots of schools with all kinds of courses FREE!! You won't get a degree or certificate but you can at least gather information...one thing I learned in the business world is knowing the lingo is 80% of it. It has taken me a long way in getting through some conversations I went into knowing very little but knowing some of the lingo made me look good.

What are you interested in? There is a lot of free online courseware, I know MIT is one of the leaders in this. The thing is though, you can't get a degree through free online classes.

Are you looking for a degree or just personal knowledge? If you want a degree, schools do offer financial aid. Your local community college may even have online classes, ours here do.

Have you applied for financial aide? You might be surprised, even if you don't think you qualify, you might. Also, the itunes suggestion is really good, they have some good classes on there. Good luck sweetpea!

For some exposure to software packages you'll run into if you want to work in an office:

Default MIT Open Courseware

is great in that it provides syllabi and assignments for many of MIT's classes.

(of course no degree can be earned... but if you're looking for knowledge just for knowledge's sake, it's a great place to start)

just search for "mitopencourseware" to find it online (i can't post a link on here yet)

Are you talking no money at all, ever? Or no money right this instant?

I'm in school now, getting my B.S. in accounting, through a local college's online program. With grants and student loans, it's only costing me computer paper, pens, and notebooks. When I graduate, I will have to pay back my loans, but with all of the repayment options available for student loans, there's a loan for almost every budget.
