Lost earrings

My SO bought me a beautiful pair of topaz earrings for my birthday and I've lost them. I've only had them a month and I feel like such an irresponsible idiot. I THOUGHT took them off at his house and put them in my purse because I didn't just want to lay them on his dresser and now they are MIA. Of course, that could have all been a dream and they could really be anywhere. Question is, do I fess up, or do I just go buy a new pair and fake it?

Could they be in a different handbag? Did you put them into a zipper in the handbag or into your pants pocket for some reason?

I think honesty is the best policy.

i'd do a thorough search- in the couch perhaps? everything i lose winds up in there- and then if you can't find them, fess up. that sucks though. i hope you find them.

I would look a bit longer. I seem to always find stuff when I am looking for something else. I spent hours looking for something a month or so ago - found it last week [while looking for something else], right where I looked for it, but I was in such a panic I guess I missed it.

I am having a similar problem right now, I washed my new ipod - that was a gift, a gift I wanted very very badly. I don't want to tell the people who bought it for me that I washed it - so I am thinking about just buying a new one. BUT they will find out eventually. So why try and hide it? And I know exactly how you feel, its not that I ruined it - it's just that I was a "irresponsible idiot" and let it happen.

Good luck, hope you find them!

If you can't find them, I would be honest and tell him.

For the future: I also take off jewelry while at my fiance's house. I bought an inexpensive glass dish to sit on the nightstand for that and my chapstick, etc. So I don't worry about it rolling off the table or losing it.:)

I lost one earring in my parent's gravel drive. I was so mad because I had just bought them, they weren't expensive but I really liked them. Something like two years later my dad found it, while working on a car.

Keep looking! I would tell SO and maybe he can help you look.
