I hate going to counseling honestly. I was forced into it all four years of high school due to having an abusive mother. They treated me like it was MY fault she was hitting me and then turned around and tried to accuse me of lying about what had been happening in my house. Then when they decided to "believe" me they called in child services who bombarded me with threats of taking me away, putting my mom in jail and never seeing my family or friends again. From that day on I never said a word to counselors and found talking to my close friends to be more comforting and helpful. lol

I definitely understand bad experiences. But remember you are an adult now and not all counselars are bad. If you choose to see one you can always stop going if you don't the counselar and pick another one. I didn't go see a nutritionist for years cuz the first one called me a liar. I finally went last year and the new one I saw was wonderful.
How about some self help books? Meditation? Anything that you think will personally help you? :) |
Dreams can not only be scary, but they can also shape us to some extent. Now, dont laugh at this..
When I was approx 7 years old I had a nightmare. there was not much to it really. I was pushing a baby in a baby carriage up a long sidewalk to a little shack/house. I pushed open the door, and went inside with the carriage. The room was filled with baby carriages all filled with dolls. I looked at all the dolls, and then looked down into the carriage I was pushing. The real baby in my carriage had turned into a doll, and then all the dolls in the other carriages came to life. That was it..it doesnt seem like much, but it had that horrid feeling that nightmares can have, and it terrified me. The next morning, at the age of 7, I went though my bedroom, and threw every doll I had into a garbage bag. I never owned another doll again, and to this day, I cant stand to have them around me. I learned to be okay with rag doll type dolls..you know, the kind that dont look like human babies, but real looking dolls still give me the creeps. Growing up, my daughter never owned a realistic doll. Raggedy ann FTW!! |

jennie, I have weird dreams too, but like a poster above said, I'm a sensitive. When I dream people come and talk to me, I remember their names, what they're wearing, and one even wanted me to write something down for him. this has caused me A LOT of discomfort because I wasn't quite sure what these dreams meant or if I actually am a little "sensitive". I have the weird dreams too, but the ones where people are talking to me are really scary even though I can feel they don't mean me any harm. The weird things is, I almost always have these dreams when Im at work (I do overnights where im allowed to sleep). I think my place of work may be a bit of a paranormal site. Anyways, good luck with you dreams, I also had a rough childhood so maybe that could be it as well. I know after my father died, I kept having a repeat dream of a bull killing my mother. He used to chase her around and maul her until she was dead. I know as a child this probably had to do with the fact that I was terrified of losing her too. Enough, rambling. Good Luck.
