I like the first dress. I was 250lbs at my wedding, and I wore like this, I thought it looking very flattering on me and I felt beautiful in it. Wedding dresses are designed to make women look beautiful, i'm sure you will look great!
|
I love the second dress, however, I do agree the first one might be more figure flattering. But oh how I do love tulle.....
I agree, try some similar dresses...you might find the tulle works for you! ~CGH~ |
I was 195 when I got married in 2004, and I wore a dress similiar to the first one. Which I happen to love. It's very beautiful. David's Bridal has beautiful plus size wedding dresses. I almost bought a dress from there. Plus, they have lots of sales!!

I'd go for the second one with the filmy over-skirt. The shear fabric may look like more "stuff" but it gives the impression that the hips are smaller than the one with the "solid" skirt. I have misgivings about the exposed shoulders in both instances. I actually think that some sort of sleave will make you look more slender. The fitted bodice is important. I tend to think something that looks more like an Indian Sari, with a filmy overskirt would reduce the bride's size the most.
And of course, congratulations! |
First of all, congratulations! I personally like the first one better, but it is your day and you should wear what makes you happy. I agree with the other posters who hav suggested trying on gowns to find out what style you like best on you. I can remember dress shoppin with my mom; she would had me dresses that I thought looked awful on the hanger, but were both stunning and flattering once I put it on.
Good luck. |
I love the 1st one! good luck!

With out a doubt the first one. It will make you look so much thinner than the second one. When I got married 5 years ago I was 200 pounds and I wore a strapless A-line that is similar to yours.
