Mom or Dad and why? Just curious.

I'm a whole lot more like my dad, in my personality and interests. But I would say I'm equally "close" to both.

Mom, even though we're not that close. I really dislike my dad.

Both these days - for different reasons though. Dad I can bond with over all things sci-fi, geeky and handyman/DIYing and mum for all things food & wine and family.

I tell both my parents everything and count them amongst my best friends.

I was close to both my parents.

I was equally close to my parents. Although when I was younger it was my mom. She was a stay at home mom and my dad was in construction, working long hours. When he did get time off he rested....however, we always were close during baseball season...he was always home early for catch, practice and games. I never felt like I needed more from him. My mom was always there! Yay mom!

When I was older, high school and up, I was much closer with my dad as we worked together most of the time.

I know my kids would say they are closer to me....they have a good mom...but they are much closer to me...yay dad!!

Dad, all the way!!! I hate my mother, she is use less space.

Mom. When I was little my dad was at sea (Navy, submarines). I have no memories of him at all before I was 8 years old. He's a great guy and I love him to death, but I'm closer to mom.

My mom .. my Dad left when I was four and had very little contact with me afterwards. He went and got remarried, had two kids, and made a different life for himself. He also likes spreading rumors about how my brother and I never made an effort to see him .. he's just a pathetic human being, and I really can't describe properly how much I loathe his actions.

i'm not very close to either of them. my mom seems to push me away though, so i guess i'm a bit closer to my dad.

I'm close to them both... but i could tell my mum stuff i wouldn't tell my dad!!

Mom.

We hung out more when I was growing up, and when I was 15 my parents separated and I lived with my mom. In fact, excluding one year living in the dorms at college, I lived with her until I was 22 years old! We've always been able to chat about anything and everything. I talk to her about once a week, and she visits every couple of months.

My dad is a bit awkward and quiet... it's just his personality. When you add in the fact that I'm a bit awkward and quiet, too.. it's just hard for us to talk much. We e-mail about once a month, and he visits occasionally, and we'll hike or hunt or do other activities, and it's always fun... but I still feel closer to my mom.

If you add together my dad's awkwardness and his curiosity about how things work, and my mom's neuroticism and her love of humor/laughter, you get me. :D
