Negative Calories

HAD ANYONE HEARD OF THE NEGATIVE CALORIE DIET AKA THE EAT AND BURN DIET. I SAW THIS BOOK AT MY LOCAL BOOKSTORE AND WAS INTRIGUED. I DO NOT WANT TO WASTE MY MONEY AGAIN THOUGH.IT IS SAID TO CONTAIN A LIST OF NEGATIVE CALORIE BURNING FOODS SUCH AS APPLES. I'M CURIOUS TO KNOW IF ANYONE HAS HAD REAL SUCCESS, NOT MADE UP STORIES . THANKS

Hi CHUBBY33!
I read about this diet on the internet. I dont know if it works, its just mainly eating certain veggies and fruit i think? I bet anyone could lose weight eating only those 2 foods anyway.

Thanks Flutter, I think I will wait a while and see if anyone else knows more. I have the same feeling though that it is mostly veggies. i guess I would get bored rather easily.

Negative calories are like a dieting urban legend. It SORT OF makes sense that some foods require more calories to process than they actually contain, but it just doesn't play out in real life. These "negative calorie" diets usually involve eating all fruits and vegetables...that's just very low cal with a very high water content. You will lose weight, but it won't stay off. There's just no way you can live on raw fruit and veg for the rest of your life.

Negative Calorie:shrug: Ive hrd of it. But have to agree with Nichole it is mostly about the low cal., low fat and high water content. Mayb a few cal. get lost burnin fiber but not as much as the diuretic affect of the veg & fruits. :moo: unless you want to go vegan you might get bored and will prob. gain it all back. Sorry  Wish I could be more positive. Keeping working at the wt loss though :strong: and exercise.

Thanks to all who have replied.I am going to keep up the way I have been and not waste any more money. I just bought a new journal and am going to try being faithful to this. This might help me see bad patterns if I am honest. However it can not hurt to add a few of these foods to my diet.
