Anyone else plan on checking out this show tonight? I have it set up to record with the DVR. I hope I am not disappointed.

Over the weekend, I was going through boxes getting rid of stuff and I found a bunch of old books I'd kept from junior high or high school. I had the four Vampire Diary books in there and I remembered really liking them back in the day so I set them aside and read the first two on Sunday and Monday.

I'd heard of the CW series, but I didn't put two and two together until this morning that those are the books the series is based off of. Kind of a weird coincidence.

I'm prepared for a total cheez-fest to be honest The books aren't that good and the CW just doesn't produce anything worth watching anymore (besides Supernatural, which I love). I'm going to watch it just to see how bad its gonna be. Perhaps I'll be surprised, who knows

I am - and I will turn into a raving lunatic for sure. The author of the books, LJ Smith, has been my favorite author since I was in 5th grade. (because I'm a campy kind of kid ). And I already know they destroyed half of the characters so it will probably make me cry.

All of LJ's works are being republished b/c of twilight. If you like the twligiht series, you'll probably like her stuff.

Like Blood and Chocolate. Has anyone read that book and tried to watch the movie? I got through 10 minutes of it. I was lucky enough to have some time to chat with the author of B & C at a convention and she hates the movie too! Ha!

Oh man I LOVE Supernatural- I can't WAIT for tonight! I went to the panel at comic con this year and I'm so freaking excited for that

i just googled about the vampire diaries, to find out about it, as i've heard alo of people talking about it. and on wikipedia - i recognised the author's name, and i went to my bookshelf, and lo behold, one of my favourite books from when i was a kid, was a book from the series of Night world, the book was called Secret Vampire and it was by L J Smith!!

i will be interested in checking out the show! looks interesting. i love vampire shows/movies/books.

I'm sadly in classes tonight but I have my DVR all set up and ready to record!

I just finished watching it. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't but I will say it is a show I will continue to watch
