Well, a late :bday2you: for Operator and Ruth and an early one for Bargoo (because I'm very forgetful)!!

And, welcome back, Bill! Hope you had a really nice vacation!

mrsaugie 07-10-2009 03:06 PM

 hi everyone and since i have not done it in awhile here is a quote for today:

"I have met the enemy, and it is the eyes of other people." ~Benjamin Franklin

Operator265 07-10-2009 06:28 PM

Well, Bargoo, one of the girls at my corner store has invited me to the club tonight. This one gives folks free cab rides if needed.

The cops here are getting vengeance for the change in liquor laws. One pulled us over the other night for supposedly having a license plate light out. :dz: Comes up to my side and asks how much we had been drinking. I'm like, "Me and her(DD), a whole lot. As for him(the driver, my X) not a thing." So she comes back and tests him and had to choke on it. :p

The cops are so pulling people over for any little thing in order to increase revenues. That's going on all over the country I guess. Here, they sit in the right shoulder waiting for people to pull over to soon to make a right turn and other silly crap. It's getting ridiculous.

And, HAPPY BIRTHDAY EARLY, Bargoo!! I might forget later on too. :o

WebRover 07-10-2009 06:48 PM

:bday2you::celebrate::balloons::woo::hb:

So you're twice your daughter's age now!!

I believe I can top your cop story . I was formerly married to a cop and he gave me a ticket for speeding !!! No kidding. He parked in the shadow of a large building and as soon as I was in sight he took off after me. A friend was following me in another car and saw him pull out when I came into sight. He walked up to the car like he had never seen me before. Let me tell you, that ticket is one of my priceless memories!!@!#

EZMONEY 07-10-2009 10:44 PM

Too funny? Bargoo...maybe not funny ha-ha...my DD's birthday is tomorrow...my "baby" will be 26!

Operator265 07-10-2009 10:57 PM

You were married to him at the time of the ticket or already divorced? Kick in the nuts either way. :kickbutt:

EZMONEY 07-10-2009 11:03 PM

BillBlueEyes 07-11-2009 05:18 AM

Yep, Gary's right; shouldn't be saying the D-I-V-O-R-C-E word in front of the kiddies, LOL.

Happy Birthday Operator and her DD. Neat story to have your ex as designated driver.

Thanks for the welcome back. I share July for Birthday month, so I agree that it's special.

Karen31 07-11-2009 10:04 AM

Hello everyone. Sorry to have been gone for so long. My Daddy passed away on the morning of the 4th and it has been a bit rough. Trying to get back on track now--although we have another tough day coming up on Monday when we go to spread his ashes in the lake where he always wanted them. But I was able to be here with him for about the last month and a half.
I am liking my our new house and even the 100 degree temps!! It sure beats the 65 degrees back in Colorado. Still getting stuff unpacked and trying to figure where to put things.
Take care everyone----I've missed you guys.

ronni62 07-11-2009 11:43 AM

Karen- so sorry about your dad, but glad you got to spend the last couple months with him.

Bill-:hb: Happy Birthday!

Gary-Happy Birthday to your DD, as well!

dutchgirl 07-11-2009 03:58 PM

Wow, Karen
The death of a close loved one and moving house, 2 huge stress situations.
Take good care of yourself.
My thoughts and prayers are with you

bargoo 07-11-2009 04:52 PM

Karen, so sorry for your loss, glad you were able to spend time with him before he passed. I am sure that was a great blessing to him.
Operator, my ex and I were separated at the time , divorce action soon followed, though. The funniest thing about it was him asking to see the registration , with his name on it as registered owner !

Happy birthday to all the July babies, the best month to have a birthday !!

BillBlueEyes 07-11-2009 05:45 PM

Karen - My Condolences for the loss of your father, and sending supportive thoughts for your difficult day Monday.

Operator265 07-11-2009 06:40 PM

I'm so sorry you're going thru this Karen. I am, however, glad you got the house sold and were able to move so you could spend some time with him.

Karen31 07-11-2009 10:31 PM

Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone. We didn't get our house sold yet though, just decided to go ahead and make the jump when we found this house back here----just really couldn't pass it up. And I'm so glad that we did. Right now we have four different people looking at the house in Colorado so am hoping it sells soon. Take care.

EZMONEY 07-11-2009 10:32 PM

KAREN ~ We have a little "history" some here may not know about...but...I think you know where I am going with this ;)...What a glorious place to spread your dad's ashes! On a lake! Every time you go there to fish/pic-nic/walk around it you will have such wonderful memories! Yea, I know...dad will be all gone then...NOT!...He will always be with you...where it counts...your heart and memories. What a great place to be able to go to to remember him...you are one lucky gal!

EZMONEY 07-11-2009 10:33 PM

wild...we posted at the same time...

Karen31 07-11-2009 11:22 PM

Thanks Gary, You always seem to know just what to say to make me feel better...

WebRover 07-12-2009 11:22 AM

199 to go

Operator265 07-12-2009 11:36 AM

Well, I survived Bday week. :hat: Didn't get into any trouble, but, probably started some. :o Thank heavens I don't have to go to work. :^: But, I think I'll go harass a couple of my friends who do. :s:

So, fair warning, I WILL be here for the final countdown. :p

See y'all Sunday evening. Have a good weekend.

Have a great time. But I dont think joints and Yorkville and the same as they use to be. Yorkville is so full of Harry Rosen, and Ashley and what every other snooty retails labels are out now. I love going to Queen St W. Its really come along way. I lived there in the 1990s when they started to renovate the Gladstone hotel and many other places. A joint would fit in nicely there! LOL

JuliaDH 07-12-2009 09:09 PM

Karen sorry for your loss
Ronni - hugs
Bill welcome back, glad you had a safe vacay
Gary today is one of those my kids better grow up fast days. Get your dd a great big hug!
Operator & dd - Happy Birthday! Glad you enjoyed yourself despite the coppers!

EZMONEY 07-12-2009 09:48 PM

Hi Julia...did you see the race yesterday?

Do I see a hint of sarcasm in the above most? Or is it just the prunes kicking in?

Operator265 07-13-2009 12:56 AM

Nope, it's all the alcohol leaving. Our friends have pretty much kept us drunk since Tuesday. I'm just glad it's over with and I can go back to being just plain, old, boring Mom.

EZMONEY 07-13-2009 08:16 AM

Gonna be hot here today...not even 5:30am and it is already 74 degrees

Operator265 07-13-2009 12:23 PM

It's been cooking here too. I'm fighting like **** to keep my new roses from being turned into burning bushes. But, the weeds, they aren't having any problems.

JuliaDH 07-13-2009 12:26 PM

No didn't catch the race. Its not the same since they changed weekends and no longer called Molson Indy. yes i am still pouting!

Operator265 07-13-2009 12:57 PM

I'm with ya there Julia. IDK why, but, it's just not the same now that it's not The Winston Cup. Besides, Big Dale left us, so who cares anymore.

JuliaDH 07-13-2009 05:30 PM

The race here just does not get the same pubicity that it use to get.

56 days left till school starts!

Karen, I just read back and want to offer you my condolences. Losing a parent is really hard and we also have to face the reality of being grown up.

Had a great weekend in Toronto and Oakville. Saw Jersey Boys and think it was one of the best shows I've ever seen - and, having worked in theatre, I've seen lots. Didn't see much garbage lying around Toronto but certainly heard the Honda "Indy" near the station yesterday. Had a great time at my brother's place in Oakville. He really did it up for my belated birthday - fireworks and three pipers plus an absolutely delicious cake. I hope I live to enjoy my 80th in ten years.

# 315 - are we slowing down?

EZMONEY 07-13-2009 07:16 PM

You gals are so nascar....

RUTH...Angie and I loved the JERSEY BOYS!

Operator265 07-13-2009 07:34 PM

Der, EZ. Hot men in tight fire suits. Makes me all kinda sweaty.

P.S. Angie got me some new boxer/briefs...mesh....at Kohl's yesterday...not a pretty site!

gimme back my boxers!

dutchgirl 07-13-2009 11:52 PM

Who said she bought them for your benefit?
Girls just got to have fun, you know?
The mere idea sure gave me a fit of the giggles:lol3:
