Haircut opinions!!!!

2 Attachment(s)
Ok, I'm uploading two pics...the first is me, back in February. The second is the haircut I just got. Looking for opinions on the bangs....she didn't cut them yet....they're just pulled to the side to give me an idea of what it'd look like. I know I can trust y'all to be honest!!!! Let me know!!!

MindiV 03-13-2009 04:18 PM

My friend here just suggested I NOT get the bangs cut...and just style it this way sometimes....good idea, I thought...

mysticshaz 03-13-2009 04:23 PM

well i for one love getting my hair cut so even if you dont go for any drastic changes i would just go and get it washed and trimed it allways makes me feel really good when i do.

much love

mystic

I think you'd look cute with bangs - but pulling your bangs to the side like this instead is a great way to see how you'd like the look without committing to it. :)

Once you have bangs, it can take a long time to grow 'em out.

MindiV 03-13-2009 04:33 PM

True, annieoh....that's why I'm liking her suggestion of keeping my hair without bangs, and just pulling it over sometimes for something new and different....

Tabby 03-13-2009 04:34 PM

I like the idea of not getting them cut also. I like your hair just styled to the side the way you have it in the picture But if you really want bangs they would look great on you.

Bear 03-13-2009 04:35 PM

I think the bangs look great. I would definitely get them cut. I have bangs and love them, though they aren't side swept like that, just cut straight. I think you should go for it!

luvja 03-13-2009 04:35 PM

IMO, I think you look cute with bangs :)

PearFreak 03-13-2009 04:39 PM

Oh, I like the side swept, bangs illusion. Keep it that way. This way if you don't want them, you can just style it a different way. That style looks really versatile on you too. Good luck with what ever you choose.

Amy8888 03-13-2009 05:07 PM

I like the bangs too! Is it hard to keep them styled that way? If so, I'd just go with the cut.

lovesjm 03-13-2009 05:10 PM

I like the bangs! I have some like that, and they are pretty easy to maintain, and to grow out as well. However, if your hair is even the slightest bit wavy (it looks like it may be) like mine, you will have to flat iron them, or they will look pretty funny.

partypantalones 03-13-2009 05:20 PM

your hair is sooo shiny and pretty! i like the side-swept bang look a lot.

you can always have her cut an ear length layer that makes the sweepy look work and that just blends in with your other longer hair when you pull it to the side.

i think its super fresh looking to go from long one length middle part to something with a little shake!

beerab 03-13-2009 05:31 PM

I would cut it- bangs are fun- I didn't have bangs for ages and now I do- I just told my stylist keep them long- so while I push my bangs to the side if I pull them down they come past my nose and just above my lips :D

bargoo 03-13-2009 06:06 PM

I personally think you look better without bangs.

3fcuser1058250 03-13-2009 06:45 PM

I think you look better with bangs  the second pic is just more stylish than the first....... Confused yet?

CountingDown 03-13-2009 06:52 PM

I like the idea of bangs. I cut my long hair a couple years ago, and I'm so glad I did.
Why not upload a picture on clairol.com or taaz.com and try on some new hairstyles? You can get a feel for how bangs will look - swept to the side or otherwise :)

Tomato 03-13-2009 08:08 PM

I think the bangs really frame your face very nicely.

Thighs Be Gone 03-13-2009 08:17 PM

bangs gets my vote. :)

SilentBlue 03-14-2009 01:23 AM

It will look really nice either way. :)

flatiron 03-14-2009 12:43 PM

I have always loved bangs and always wondered why more women don't sport the look.

Cher, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Moss, Cleopatra (when Liz Taylor played her anyway's! LOL) and Ginger on Gilligan's Isle all had bangs!

So the tally as of now is TEN (counting my vote) for bangs and FIVE for no bangs. That's 2 to 1 people who think you would look good in bangs.

I personally think the side swept look is a cop out. You REALLY would like bangs but you know that once cut that's it and you are committed. It is this "fear" that makes you want to just side sweep it so it's sort of like having bangs but without the risk of really cutting them. It's called playing it safe.

It is this same fear that keeps so many of us from taking that first step in anything. Jobs... career changes... relationships...

Hey kaplods you have the psychology degree am I over analyzing this! LOL! :D

Anyway's ... take the risk... cut them ... if you don't like the look yeah it'll take a long time to grow back but at least now you'll KNOW for SURE for the rest of your life that you don't look good in bangs but at least you know inside that you weren't afraid to try.

Amber1011 03-14-2009 01:37 PM

I'm on the BANGS side. I think you'll look even better with the side swept bangs!

jademarlene 03-14-2009 01:44 PM

Another vote for bangs.

Lori259 03-14-2009 01:52 PM

OK As A woman with Long hair and Long bangs same length ~I Say "DO NOT" I REPEAT "DO NOT" Cut them ~you will regret it.
You look pretty with them and The underneath effect is a great way for a change from time to time.... Also try Hair barrettes I do that from time to time or Headbands~Theres tons of them in different styles that helps for new looks ~It Just takes to long to get to the point of having everything the same length....I know it would grow back BUT..........DON'T DO IT!
HUGS!

icicle84 03-14-2009 01:58 PM

Depending on how your hair cooperates, bangs might take extra time- if you're super wash-and-go, they might become annoying.

But if you're not, I definitely vote in favor of bangs- I think your face shape is perfect for them.

sharriannia 03-14-2009 02:01 PM

I think you would look great with bangs!!

Lori259 03-14-2009 02:03 PM

OH one more thing~I have known a lady since I was a little girl who is about 58 or so now and has our same hair do....She looked so youthful!(always looked to be In her early 30's or late 20's!)
She Done a different hairdo recently and it made her look older. Not that she looked awful but it made her look older.
I think the look is youthful on you also.~I always look at your pics and think I hope I get that skinny & pretty....I just have always liked your hair do!(yours is so much prettier than mine because yours has some thickness to it.)
AND I REPEAT MY VOTE TO KEEP IT SAME!!!(but in the end it's up to you & doesn't really matter what we think)GOODLUCK.

How in the world could you possibly know how Mindy would feel after cutting her hair??? LOL! There is just as much of a chance she might like it! :D

Jo Kittibuck 03-15-2009 02:46 PM

I think you look good without the bangs. It frames your face nicely.

beerab 03-15-2009 07:47 PM

In the end even if you don't like it you can let them grow out- that's why I keep my bangs long :D

MindiV 03-16-2009 08:42 AM

Ok...so I the husband came home on Friday. He loves the length and the layers....but said the bangs make me look "too fancy." I like the look, but think maybe it's an every once in a while thing, rather than all the time. Like someone else said, my hair is naturally pretty wavy. The lady at the beauty shop has an industrial strength straightener, and that's why it looks so good in the picture. My little straightener isn't enough to even come CLOSE to that look. In fact, I straightened it this morning and tried the bangs again...no go. The second I left the house it started waving on me, so the bangs started looking goofy and left when I got to work.

I'll work on it. Thanks, y'all, for all your advice and help!!!!
