DISCO? Old School? NAH!
 

You know I have a birthday coming up fast ....the "YOU CAN'T DRIVE ....." one...

However I still think I'm pretty cool...got it going on...groovin...all that and a bag of chips...

But now I am troubled :dizzy:

Yesterday the guys....kids to me... at work were playing some heavy metal stuff....it was giving me a big :headache: headache, so in my quiet voice...NOT! I yelled out "Shut that blankity blank off....turn it down...or I swear I will make you listen to country!".....as I un-plugged the radio and went back to reading the job prints.

A few minutes later one of the kids comes up and says...Gary can we put it on an old school station?

Sure I say...now I know the "old school" thing has been around for about 10 years...

next thing I know I am listening to disco...freakin' disco...and I swear the station kept saying they were old school...OLD SCHOOL?....nah!

Seriously you can check it out if you are in San Diego...I think it is 92.5...

CREAM-CCR-3 DOG NIGHT-FLEETWOOD MAC-NEIL-DOOBIE BROS-THE BAND-EAGLES.....I could go on and on...

Old school is the good music...not that disco...;)

What you needed to do was correct them. It's called "Classic Rock". ;)

And heavy metal is old school too.

Actually, my kids kinda like my "Old School" metal. Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, etc.

Jim Croce, Moody Blues, BS&T, Chicago, Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, Grand Funk, Kiss, Zeppelin, REO, Deep Purple ...

Out here we call those great tunes "classic rock" too. LOVE those songs. Disco is disco...I like that too ("retired" disco babe here :lol:) but I usually hear that on the dance music stations.

They play the classic rock music on our Oldies station. Hmmmm...I thought oldies music was 50s stuff. Well, I guess it was like 20 years ago. LOL

I still get a kick out of the fact that the music that drove my parents crazy when I was young is now "elevator music" playing in stores and such. Can't say that about most of today's music.

We have an 'classic rock' station here, they've started playing a lot of 80s stuff.... Also the 'oldies' station too that does that. It makes me feel old :)

That be Classic Rock they were talking about.... Old School?!? I think not. But it all depends on the ages of the people you were talking to. ... oh and your age too. Everyone has different perspectives on OLD SCHOOL, I guess.
