I live in Canada, but DH and I always say if we could move to the USA we we go to Oregon!
|
I am also Canadian. But love many states that I have visited from Ontario all to the ocean in Tx. I think when the kids are grown we will stick to out plan and I get my transport drivers licence and we will continue to travel North America. And live out of the truck. With a cottage some where northern ontario for when we are not on the move.

I was raised in a military family so we moved every 2 years growing up and then when I was an adult I too was in the military and got to see the world and when I got out I kinda wandered the world for a few years so I pretty much have explored the wanderbug side of me.
I like where I am living right now. I love the South East Virginia/North Carolina area. I have the beaches, mountains a short drive away and live in the city but I can get to rural areas very quickly. We have moderate temps with 4 separarate distinct seasons with winters that are not too harsh and summers that are not too hot. So I like it where I am at! Now if we are talking the world I love Spain! I have been there several times I would live there for a while. |
I *loved* where we used to live before Hurricane Katrina....I lived in New Orleans right on the lake in a place called Lake Catherine, I grew up there. Very beautiful and a little out of the way so we really didn't have the crime and traffic but had easy access to the rest of the city :)
I do really like it here too....small towns are cute but can be slightly annoying since this one typically shuts down by 8pm, yuck! The kids have plenty of room to run since we live on 10 acres & we aren't too far from New Orleans. We lived for 4 years in a suburb of Tampa, FL and gosh I hated it so much! The traffic was horrible and the people over there were just plain rude....I did love my house over there though :) |
This is a good place to mention findyourspot.com ... I go to that site every few years to see where they say I should live. :) I've changed a lot in the past few years, I should probably try again today.
Definitely NOT Western or Central NY state, even though that's the only place I've ever lived! (Besides a few months in Pittsburgh, which is another big NO on my list.) Ok, maybe that's not true... I love living in a town full of highly-educated hippies, and maybe I'll end up here again some day... but it's in the middle of nowhere, jobs are scarce, and it's 50% college kids. *shudder* I've never actually been to California, but I think I'd really like San Diego. There are parts of Colorado I really like, and I like the weather, but I don't think there are all that many big research universities there for me. Boston is a great city, too, with some great scientists. |
I live in NE Florida and love it! Im so close to the ocean and bein a water baby thats a good thing.
Im from NJ originally, lived in Philly, lived in Charlotte,NC,and now here.Ive travelled all over the country BUT Im a East Coast chick so I would always pick this side to live but if I had to pick anywhere,it would be New York City-omg,if I hit the lotto,Greenwich Villiage here I come! :) But Id keep a house here for vacation, lol |
Canadian here, but if I could move, it would be to southeast Florida aka Fort Lauderdale. I loved it there.

I would like to live somewhere that doesn't smell like cows. Weather-wise, I don't mind snow, but would rather have it happen for maybe two months of the year instead of four-five. And I could never live where there are wildfires, mudslides, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods or earthquakes. Blizzards are just annoying and don't tend to rearrange your neighborhood...you just have to be sure to be sure everyone is home with plenty of food and firewood before they happen ;) .
With that said, maybe Pennsylvania in the mountains where tornadoes don't happen...otherwise, I guess I'm stuck with cows and that fresh country air! :P Actually, I wouldn't mind Buffalo (GO SABRES!!) or Rochester or maybe the Finger Lakes...winters are still long, but at least we'd have WEGMANS!! Going to a different region would seem nice, but in the end, I think I'd freak out from culture shock and would never felt like I was HOME. So, Western NY would probably work for me, but just a little bit south. |

I'm going to have my husband do it and see what cities he gets. We had our "what do you think about moving to ABQ" talk this weekend.

Santa Barbara California. I went there for the first time last year and fell in love with the place.
