recyling tennis shoes
Hi everyone,
I read about a place where you can mail your old tennis shoes for recycling. Has anyone ever done this? Does anyone know the address? Thanks! |
Never heard of it but I am curious...will be watching this thread. It would be great to have some place to recycle the old shoes instead of throwing them away.

Those and denim jeans as well. The denim is made into insulation.
I'll be watching as well. |
no, but I've put my shoes ontop of my garbage can, and in the morning they were gone. Someone who needed them picked them up......which is why I left them ontop.
|
We donated ours to the school--they were shredded and are now used as mulch padding under the playground equipment--normally a very expensive item to purchase.

I stopped being lazy and googled it... this is what I found:
Current Drop-Off Locations to Recycle Athletic Shoe For individuals interested in recycling small quantities of worn-out athletic shoes, please visit Nike's website to find a drop-off location near you. If there is not a collection partner in your area, you can mail shoes at your own expense back to: Nike Recycling Center c/o Reuse-A-Shoe 26755 SW 95th Ave. Wilsonville, OR 97070 from this site http://www.nrc-recycle.org/reuseashoe.aspx |
Those sites are not very friendly. I couldn't find anywhere to enter my zip code.
|
OK. I finally found the drop down button. Geez! At least I have 2 nearby.
