How do YOU translate this....
You know, I was just thinking -- at my highest weight, it was like carrying around:
Nine 10# bags of potatoes, or.... 90 boxes of butter, or.... Three 30# sacks of cat litter And the thought of carrying any of those around for a full day.... every day.... :frypan: No wonder I'm always so tired (even after losing 20#). Anyone else have a way of putting their weight into perspective (or a picture-incentive)? |
I have lost the same amount of weight that my five-year-old son weighs...almost to the pound.
|
At my highest weight I carried around 20 chihuahuas :o
|
I lost twice as much as my eight year old daughter weighs and 5 times what my 3 year old son weighs.
But using the original references I lost 15 10lbs bags of potatoes, 155 boxes of butter, and 5 30lbs sacks of cat litter. |
wow
I hadn't really thought about it but my daughter weighs 29 pounds and she seems pretty heavy to me! I encourage her to walk up the stairs now holding my hand instead of having me carry her- it is **** on my knees but you know what? I have lost almost 10 pounds more than she weighs! |

plus http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA138_.jpg From a little under highest weight to this morning... From when I started calorie counting in March, I've lost 31 pounds. Or, one of those bags of cat litter... |
My husband and I were joking around with our kids about this recently--between us we've lost a whole middle-schooler! (About 100 pounds.) Our 12-year-old thought that was pretty amusing.
|
My stepson weighs 39 pounds and I fuss about him being heavy when I pick him up now... Funny, isn't it...
|
My guy likes to joke that he's half the man he used to be. (He used to be well over 300 lbs.)
I personally haven't really been able to consistently visualize my weight loss like that ... but I know that when I hit goal, I will have lost 1/2 my bodyweight as well. :) That's kinda cool. . |
I lost 90 big macs.
|
I've lost my 7 year old daughter! She weighs 54 lbs and I've lost 54 lbs!!!!
|
Yes - it is amazing when you think about it. Between DH and I we have lost - HIM (150 lbs total).
We joke about getting better gas mileage because we are no longer carrying around a third person ;) |
Wow, this is a great idea. I haven't lost a lot of weight, 13 lbs from my highest.. but I think of even a 10 lb bag of rice--it's heavy! And when I hit goal, I will have lost 60 lbs, or two of those 30 lb bags of dog food... it's so crazy to imagine a thin me with a bag of dog food tape to my front and back.. insane actually!!
My suitcase coming to Korea was 50 lbs. If I can reach goal before leaving here (next September), I will have lost more than a whole suitcase worth of weight. Holy :censor:! That's some motivation! :) |
I lost about 25 lbs. That is as heavy as the backpack was I carried when I went on walking holiday to Ireland 4 years ago. The thing almost tipped me over! Also, it's a really full bucket of water.

Thought I would post this in case anyone was interested.

WOW!! I weigh as much as Arnold Schwarzenegger!!
I still need to lose a gold brick. That gives a different meaning to the saying "she is worth her weight in gold" Mmmm... I wish I can just buy a brick of gold, and get it over with. |
I hear that, Snoozles!
:D :( You know, in this economy it sure would be nice to turn my fat into a gold brick and make it do some work FOR me. I mean -- I've certainly been working hard enough to support IT for long enough! ;) |
