exercise, weight loss, and af

wasn't completely sure where to post this. it's about exercise, it's about weight loss, it's about af, it's about pregnancy. it covers many different areas, so general chatter sounded the best.

okay, here is what is going on. in july i had a miscarriage at 12 weeks. af seemed to be back to normal the last 3 months or so. i typically start around the 6th of the month (give or take 1 day) and am usually pretty predictable. well, here i am on the 10th still waiting. i did take a hpt on the 8th and the result was negative. does diet, exercise, and weight loss affect af? has this happened to anybody else?

it's just so frustrating b/c we do want a baby and when i am late i get excited and then the test is negative and then i still don't start!!!

so, anybody? anything? if i don't start by saturday i am going to test again and if it's still negative i am going to call my doctor.

jmb  for your loss.

Diet and exercise can have an effect on AF - have you increaded your exercise, stopped exercising or lessened your calories? These are the only things I would think that would change it.

I know exactly where you are coming from with the excited part around AF time. Dh and I are trying to conceive after being together 8 years and I so thought this was my month I had all the symtoms and even a wacky weird AF but with a negative test I'm goin crazy.

Keep the faith and your time will come. Be sure to keep us posted.

Good luck to you, and my sincere sympathy on your loss.

Erm, what's AF? I've never married/had a boyfriend and I'm past childbearing age, so parts of this thread are over my head.

Diet and exercise can definitely have an effect. Basically, any big changes to your body (including stress, illness, medications that seem totally unrelated, weight gain or loss, and probably a million other things I can't think of) can all throw off your cycle. And once you're late, you start getting anxious (either excited or worried ;) ) and that can make it even worse.

So relax as much as possible... and good luck with conceiving!
