Happy Thanksgiving all of my United States friends

Looks like Angie and I will be doing our Turkey Trot in the rain maybe

Heavy rains expected here for the next 1 2/2 hrs ~ race time is a little less than 2 hours away

Happy U. S. Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everybody.

To all the sane folks who only have to worry about overeating, as well as to all those who plan to trot in the rain, LOL.

It's clear, sunny, and pleasant (a mite chilly) in the Boston area. We have been cold and rainy in the past and all dreamed of living in paradise (described in this thread as Southern California) - so thanks for reminding us that even paradise has rain.

P.S. Thanks to all the California growers for California Navel Oranges. DW won't allow them into the house until Thanksgiving ("They're not ready yet!") but now we just love them until they're gone.

BillBlueEyes 11-27-2008 09:04 AM

And also ...

Happy Thanksgiving to any minors in Wyoming (or ex-pats with WY longings) reading this thread. We still consider WY part of the United States - even admiring that the frontier spirit lives on.

We will be hammered by that rain for the next couple of hours....tornado type warnings have eased but much rain expected at race time...we shall see

then it moves out towards Allison in the desert and we will have a sunny afternoon..paradise

WY is where we place the MA KETTLE'S of the world

Rain or snow?

[quote=BillBlueEyes;2471583]Warm and sunny in the Boston area.

Rainy in the promised land (Southern California).

It rains in Northern California, too , but you don't have to shovel it. I spent two weeks in Massachusetts for my job in early December, some time ago. I arrived in Boston in a heavy snowfall at night and was expected to drive a rental car to Concord. For the next two weeks I had to drive to work in the snow. I was glad to get back to California!

Excuse me ! Paradise is Northern California.! Paradise, Ca located near Chico, Ca. Don't let Southern Californians deceive you!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Turkey's in the oven, pies are made. I love the smells of Thanksgiving.

Everyone is home and it's a lovely sunny day, wee bit chilly but will warm up into the 50's.

One of my favorite quotes was in an old movie by Ma Kettle:

"I used to have an hour glass figure, then the sands shifted."

I have to start graves tonight and I just don't really have the oomph to go over to the relatives, eat and shoot off for work tonight.:stress: Hopefully, this year the brats in my house will actually leave some of the leftovers they bring for me alone until I get a chance to eat them.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!

:turkey:

6 hours! Had to pop in.

Everybody having a good Thanksgiving?

EZMONEY 11-27-2008 09:50 PM

Yep, my Thanksgiving was awesome.

Angie and I had a great TURKEY TROT this morning, were able to avoid the rain, get in over 4 miles of exercise, have coffee, see friends, make a bunch of kids :) by allowing them to pet the spoiled ones ;)

Went to my ex-wife's house for amazing food and visits with family and friends. We all brought dishes.

We will all be eating leftovers for nights and days....

turkey, spiral ham, scalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes, corn, green bean casserole, yams, rolls, 2 different cranberry dishes, salad, cherry, apple and pecan pies, pumpkin rolls, lefse, wine and beer ;)

The best part was that most of these dishes were not made the traditional ways....which sometimes makes me  but new ways, less calories, and they were great!

I limited my portions but I know I was over....

so what! :)

lefse

Only someone of Norwegian heritage knows what lefse is, that would be me a member of the Klovstad family in Kongsberg, Norway. Wish I had some lefse, now. Uff Da!!!

BillBlueEyes 11-28-2008 09:59 AM

Exposing the secret of lefse

Apparently, only the descendants of Norway will continue to know unless someone Googles it for the rest of us, to discover that lefse is a flat bread made from potatoes, per:

[Note to self: Seem like I have to do all the work around here]
