How much can you bench?
So, everyone - what is your maximum on bench press?
|
I've never tried to find my max. I could do my set of 12 with 70 pounds. Definitely nothing to be gloating about ;)
You may have more luck with this down on the weightlifting section. Those ladies are hardcore :lifter: |
I've never tried my max either. Last time I did any (4 years & +50lbs ago) I could do 2 sets of 12 at 80lb. I did pickup my 155lb sister the other day.....;)

I did some power lifting in college...
3 reps at 225lbs. for bench 10 reps at 375lbs. for squat |
I'll have to find out, I too have never tried. But, but, but - my training is paying off - I like to freak my husband out by picking HIM up (he weighs 269 pounds).
Granted, I can't swing him up into the air like I can my 48 pound son - but I can lift that boy and hold him a few inches in the air. It annoys him terribly  I don't think he ever envisioned that when I started my quest for fitness. |
I haven't done bench presses in years. My max used to be sets of 140 lbs (2-3 sets of 12). I can do a few pushups (5 or so) with my current weight which I think is a bit more impressive :)

I think there's a formula somewhere for your one rep max, using what you currently lift. If I find it I'll report back.
