While I was out today, I saw a "slutty pioneer woman" costume....think Little House on the Prairie with a 2 inch skirt. If that isn't a complete oxymoron, I don't know what is.

I seem to remember when I was younger, there were a lot of creative options for store-bought costumes...now, it's "slutty _______" or nothing.

Your homemade costume sounds better than anything you would have found in stores :)

My husband and I had considered being Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and boyfriend, but figured it was a bit obscure for the masses of drunkards that will be out that night.

Guess I'm lucky to live in WY/UT. I've always been able to find the ankle length "Lady of the Manor" type dresses beside the "Slutty (insert everything)". It's not just that these are 2 of the most conservative states in the nation, but Halloween is traditionally the first blizzard of the year, so we don't want to freeze our butts off.:brr:

A few years ago I spent the extra money and got one of the nicer ones for like $30(it was $60 before Halloween). I can wear it over and over again since I just wear it, a cape and make up for handing out candy. Still gives out a good boob shot though.:s:

Oh yeah, this year I found a half mask with black feathers on one half and white feathers on the other half to save me time on wearing and cleaning off makeup.

I don't know how great mine is...clothes I already had, a pair of fishnets, and a ruler in my hair. But at least I'll be WARM!

I make my own costumes, so everything's covered.
Well... It's kinda leggy, but the skirt stops just above the knee. (LOLITA CATGIRL YAY!)

Where did you look for costumes at?? I've been finding nothing but awesome non slutty ones. Although, I do love the slutty ones..I even bought one (but it was from Fredricks of Hollywood..and I only plan on wearing it in the bedroom, lol). I did buy a really awesome costume this year though!!!

but will be totally honest and admit that, now that I have more self-confidence (and husband's approval :D,) I made my own "Hot School Mistress" outfit for a costume party (adults only) with items from a thrift store.
