Unfortunately, no I cannot go to the homecoming; he's going back to Ft Drum and I'm in IL and can't leave the kids to do that and its too $$ to go with everyone to fly out..

I used to be a former military wife; so I totally know what the base is going through right now!! i can't wait to get that phone call to say he's on American soil!!

To Mar and others here that have family or friends in harm's way for our country:

Please tell them that I support them 110%!! They have gone to do our fighting for us. I back our troops all the way, they are heroes.

Please let them know that, although I can never know what they (& their families) have been through, I care, and I know they made a difference.

Thank you! I will be sure to tell them all! His unit has lost 4 soldiers; one was Darrens best friend; so I'm very worried about his mental well being when he gets back..

they were best friends back at home and over there...Darren takes his death very personally because Darren was the higher rank and was in charge of them...

Darren is also the type to NOT let his emotions out; I just hope the mental health counselor who sees each soldier will see this ...

I will DEFINITELY let him know that you all have said your thanks and wishes!!

That is amazing news! He is a hero and we all owe him so many thanks! I am so glad that he is safe and on his way back home. I am sure that you will be showering him with hugs and kisses but please give him some extras as thank you's from all of us here. God bless him and your family. :)
