Wii Fit
Does anyone here use the Wii Fit? I have a Wii and have thought about getting the Wii Fit program but wanted to get some feedback on it before spending the $$. What do you guys think?
Tara:carrot::carrot: |
I also have another question about it. I was interesting in getting the Wii Fit but I was wondering if I have to buy the Wii first and then the board or if I just buy the board I will be able to play it.
|
You have to have the Wii game console first in order to be able to play the Wii Fit. The Wii Fit program comes with a board, which is why it's more expensive than the other Wii games.
Hope that helps :-) |
iwanted a wii and wii fit, but decided against it due to the cost....
i dint think the workout wud be worth the dollars.... not hwhen i cud do my own moer intense workout.... |
i like it... i wish i had more time to do it daily!
|
I love my WII Fit...I just wish I had more time to spend playing on it...it's my fun time..I don't use it for a workout but for fun time and well if it's a little workout that's even better.

i'm so excited!!!
My mom just bought a wii and a wii fit. She said that she also bought me a wii fit since she knows I have been trying to save up for one for a long time now. It's my Christmas present but I can't wait until Christmas. As soon as I get mine and get it plugged in, I will let you know the pros and cons and a description of all the different things it does. :carrot::D

did you all know Jillian Michaels is coming out with a game/workout for the wii and balance board?
http://www.amazon.com/Jillian-Michae.../dp/B001DDBBSS |
I might have to get that but honestly I don't have time with my other workouts to fit in my Wii Fit.
|
Is there a weight limit for the board?
Santa is bringing the kiddos a Wii for Christmas, but he may need to bring Wii fit for mommy since she has been so motivated lately! |
in the states it's 330 pounds
|
That looks interesting. If you get that let us know how it is.
|

I dont have a wii fit personally but my father does and I LOVE it! Very fun to do by yourself for fitness or with friends/family. I highly recommend it :)
|
Unfortunately I've been calling around town all day and no one has a Wii Fit in stock! I've got a few more places to try...wish me luck! All the reviews I've read are fantastic, I can't wait to get one!

I bought the WII Fit hoping for a great workout. The workouts are short, in one or 2 minute bursts, and you spend a lot of time navigating the menus to continue. It's not great for a continuous cardio workout but for someone like myself who has been pretty sedentary, it's certainly getting me to use muscles that I haven't used in a long, long time and the shorts aerobic segments keep me motivated because I actually feel like I am accomplishing something. All in all it's a good stepping stone for someone new to working out.

I have most things opened now, so I can do a 30 minute free step, or a 30 minute free run while watching TV (if i want to). I put my balance board on top of my step platform for a tougher workout. And when you finish each excercise you can click re-try and it will just run it over again. I haven't actually done this, but Im sure you can keep moving( that is heart rate still up) what you navigate through the UI. That being said, the UI is a little fiddly and irriatating at times, however this can be minimized by choosing favourites and doing thoses. I do get tired of the yoga instruction blathering on about posture and I am really tired of being told I can use the balance board to weigh other things. On the other hand, this is the first excercise device that I have been able to stick to and I am slowly seeing some results. Operant conditioning being what it is, it is working for me. YMMV. P. |
Great! Another game to mix things up.
|
How much would I spend to get the wii fit total package, with console, board, games and everything??
|
figure about 500 dollars.
|
The Wii itself is around $250 I think, and then the Wii Fit game is $90 and that includes the board. I have seen some 'bundles' that run around $500 but I have no idea what all that includes.

wii fit
I have wii fit and I love it!! :carrot: I do the dancing (aerobics) and the boxing. There are a lot of other games including yoga and strength exercises. When I do get time to do it I break out in a sweat especially after the boxing. It seems a little hard at first but then you get used to it. My daughter bought it and I didn't think I would do t. Now I do it more than she does. It is fun to add in a little 30 minute workout time instead of watching TV. It also monitors your weight and BMI. The weight is usually lower on the wii fit than on my scale. I was hoping that there would be more games for it coming out. It also figures out a wii age for you. I am 47 and at first it said my wii fit age was 53. Now I am at 34. I know it is not true but I will take any positives I can get. I haven't tried most of the yoga and strength training yet. If it gets you up off the chair and moving it has to be worth it. :)
I highly recommend it!!!:carrot: |
Do you have a fry's electronic around you? Also try Game Stop. Those are the two places that usually have them when everyone else is sold out....
|
I need to buy a Wii and Wii Fit. Sounds like a lot of fun!
|
I was able to find one last night so I picked on up! I haven't used it yet, but plan on getting it out tonight and trying it out. I can't wait!
:D |
I saw that Wii also has DDR. Has anyone used the Wii DDR yet?
I'm starting to talk with Santa (aka DH) about getting me the Wii and Wii fit for Christmas. Sarah in MD |
The reviews for wii DDR are not good so I haven't even considered it.
|
There is a WiiFit Challange running on 3fc. Check it out! :)
|
Ooooo I think DDR is surprisingly fun! My boyfriend's sister brought it to his house about 6 months ago and I tried it out. I didn't want to at first because I thought it looked stupid, but seriously it's a goooood time. I also have wii fit and enjoy it. It's nice because when I work overtime I don't really feel like going to the gym. This way, it's here and its accessable and doing 30 mins on wii fit is really better than doing nothing at all!! Plus I use it as a scale - it's surprisingly accurate!
|
Wish I could have it but for now I'll stick w/ my DDR.
|
I absolutely LOVE my wii fit!
|
DH and I are looking to get a Wii & the Wii Fit. We've heard great reviews. It's also a good way for us to do something together as well as with the kids. :)
Now if we could only find a store where they're in stock!! ;) |
I got our Wii fit recently and really think it does a good job of making you sweat. I'm not sure if it works all your muscles but it sure does do a great job on cardio if you play tennis etc.
The yoga program is a lot of fun and the more you do the more you unlock. Even the balancing games get you moving. The push ups, etc, really work your whole body. It's hard to find time to play with a two year old but so far I really like it. |
Cover
Does anyone have the cover for the wii fit and do you think it is needed???
