Weight and Pant sizes?

At my weight I'm a 22 in pants.... My friend who weighs 90lbs less then me is a 20/22... ? Umm. Doesn't really make much sense to me. Does height have anything to do with this?

ducky0224 09-25-2008 12:03 PM

height and where you carry it has a lot to do with it. I am 247, and wear a 20, comfortably. I don't like tight clothing, so the 20 is a little loose, but it really varies.

luvja 09-25-2008 12:07 PM

Ahh okay. Thanks.

CandyKisses0204 09-25-2008 12:08 PM

it depends on how you are bulit really. I am 210lbs and wear a size 16. At 245 i wore a size 22 as well. Also you may have more muscle than her so your body is a little more compact for your size/weight. If you look at it you can have 2 women who both weigh 150lbs. The one who doesnt work out wears a size 12/14 and the one who is fit can prolly wear a size 8.

The human body is an interesting thing really...

I'm 196 and a 16, comfortable. Fit into a 14 well, but still a little muffin. :)

I seem to loose a dress size with every 10 lbs.

Height definitely makes a difference. But there is just so much variation even at the same height or weight. I have seen so many people on here that same height and weight as me, but where I'm in a size 14, say, they are in a 10 or even 8. Drives me crazy, but it's just life. Or they are the same size and height as me, but 50# more. Seriously, 50# more. Doesn't seem to go as much in the other direction :o. I seem to be much larger than most other people my height and weight. But what are you gonna do? ;)

Also, figure type can make a big difference - do they carry their weight high or low?

ronni62 09-25-2008 12:43 PM

Height must make a big difference, along with where the weight is, of course!
I'm short, 5'1" and down to 237, but my size 26's have just this week gotten too large. I had to get out a belt to keep them on:carrot: I carry most of my weight in my belly, as you could probably guess:lol:

i'm only 5 foot 2- and i'm in a 24 at about 250. the weird thing is i was still in a 20 at 200... it's really weird it's like all my clothes start falling off me but the next size down doesn't fit yet.

zenor77 09-25-2008 03:24 PM

It depends not only on height, weight, and body type, but also on the clothing manufacturer. I wear anything from a size 8-12 depending on the brand, although mostly I wear a 10.

sh3l5 09-25-2008 03:38 PM

i wear a UK10 - US6 i believe....

mezmerize 09-25-2008 03:49 PM

I'm 209 and 5foot 4 and I wear mostly a 14/13. It really does depend on the brand and fabric. I have 16 that fall off me but I have 16 that are ok. I've not been able to squeeze into a size 12 of any brand. Since my gall bladder operation. (almost a year ago) I have what I think looks like a button sewn onto a pillow. (but my belly button) So muffin top is there no matter what.

mandalinn82 09-25-2008 05:16 PM

I'm 5'8, fluctuate from 165-170 lbs, and wear a size 8 in pants. My partner is 5'8, fluctuates from 170-175 lbs, and wears a size 12-14. A LOT is how you carry weight.

Smiling_Sara 09-25-2008 08:33 PM

at my highest weight I wore a tight 24, now almost 60 lbs less I wear a tight 20.

PhotoChick 09-25-2008 09:19 PM

Height is absolutely a huge factor.

Think about it - you spread 170 lbs out over 68 inches (5'8") and it's going to go further than 170 lbs over 64 inches (5'4").

And, of course, everyone carries their weight differently. Someone who is pear shaped is going to wear a larger pants size than someone who has 42DD boobs at the same height and weight. :D
