Who is watching biggest loser?

I love this show.... :)

:carrot::carrot::carrot:

zeffryn 09-16-2008 08:50 PM

I wanted to, but DH got to the TV first....stupid me had to make dinner!

elisa822 09-16-2008 08:55 PM

Thanks for the reminder!!

I had forgotten that it started tonight but thanks to you, my PVR and timeshifting, I've set it tape when it starts at 11:00!!

I always love this show but I'm not sure about the families part. Doesn't really matter...I know I'll watch it anyway!

:D

Loriann7 09-16-2008 08:56 PM

I AM, but I think it's important for everyone to remember that the weight losses on the show are NOT REALISTIC. These guys are focusing 24/7 on diet and exercise and doing a rigid regimen under close dr.s care!

akacutie 09-16-2008 08:59 PM

Oh definetly....

I can't believe how hard they are working on their first workout..... it looks so hard. I often wished I could go on the show, but I am working on my at so it's all good.

piperboo 09-16-2008 09:24 PM

It's so informational...and the dr is scaring the crap outta me right now - the guy with the Metabolic X syndrome is just like me! Scary.

I always try to match myself up to someone - I wish they would say their height though...I will have to go check out the website.

Yeah, me too. He's watching some kid's movie instead!

Fat Melanie 09-16-2008 10:01 PM

Is Alison Sweeney the host again?

I've never really watched the show but caught an episode or two last season. I agree with Lori, it is pretty unrealistic for most people.

DH stole the family tv for video games and DS was watching dragon tales. I'll forgo putting up an argument just to keep the peace ;)

Christian 09-17-2008 08:10 AM

I really enjoy it, But my kids just hate Tuesday nights, because mom and dad hog the tv

Pacergal29 09-17-2008 08:48 AM

I'm watching and although it is unrealistic there always seems to be some little tidbit I can take from every show and apply to my daily life. Couple that with the motivation it provides and I love the show!

GONNABE165 09-17-2008 09:00 AM

I sooo love this show and us it as a great way of exercise I am on the treadmil while watching during - the show i walk and commercials i jog. I agree with Stephanie you can always find something from the show that may work for you or even a plateau braking exercise to try. Last nights show was an eye opener when they showed the pics of the organs

hmacneil6 09-17-2008 09:25 AM

I've got it taped on my DVR...plan to check it out tonight. I've really appreciated it in the past and always find it motivational.

KO 09-17-2008 11:53 AM

I didn't see the beginning ( was watching 90210) and didn't see the end but I saw the middle and man the organ stuff!!! scary!

Pearlrose 09-17-2008 01:21 PM

I love this show!! I take away motivation and little tidbits here and there. I cannot just sit in front of tv and watch I will walk or exercise so my pedometer will reach the 10,000 step goal for the day.

jandaman 09-17-2008 02:13 PM

i also luurve this show..i am so into it i watch the aussie version as well.

EofAZ 09-17-2008 04:36 PM

Last year was the first time I watched it and the transformation was amazing. I had to DVR it last night because I was in the kitchen cooking when it started. I was up this morning and watched it while I got ready for work (DH leaves about 2 hours before I do). I kept having to jump out into the hallway to see the TV set while I dried my hair and put on my make up, would that count as exercise? :)

BrendaS104 09-17-2008 07:31 PM

Love it.. it's on the DVR.. hoping to watch tonight.

hmacneil6 09-18-2008 09:21 AM

I finished watching it last night. The pounds lost in the first week were fantastic!!! I can't wait to see how well everyone did! And I love the "where are they now" segments at the end. So inspiring!!!

Mfit4Me 09-21-2008 08:11 PM

I'm watching it. I love the show!

jandaman 09-22-2008 01:16 PM

anyone have favorite candidates yet?

Greedy Gretchen 09-22-2008 01:33 PM

Me too, when he walked in and commented on what a nice gym it was and that he could see himself vomiting all over it just cracked me up. Sounded so much like something my brother would say.

Ruthxxx 09-22-2008 05:05 PM

Moving this to General Chatter.

amandarose17 09-22-2008 05:43 PM

I am really pulling for Tom & LT(Grey team) or the yellow team. When I saw their stories, I was almost in tears and I do not cry often. I think I am pulling for the parents and kids more because that is more of the situation I am in.

kukristen 09-22-2008 07:05 PM

If you guys missed it on TV.. you can watch the premiere online... it says it's a "preview" but it's the whole premiere:

http://www.nbc.com/The_Biggest_Loser...es/#vid=642521

If it's not okay to post that link, you can find it on NBC's full episodes section of their web site...

amandarose17 09-24-2008 02:38 PM

Ok, so did anyone catch it last night? I usually tape to watch later, but I actually caught all 2 hours yesterday. I am so proud of both LT and Coleen for picking up the slack for their dads.

I ran up a flight of stairs today without getting winded and all I could think of was Coleen running up that hill twice as much as everyone else.

jandaman 09-24-2008 02:49 PM

i hear ya amandarose..i was bawling my eyes out when colleen ran the distance for her ole man :) it was really moving and inspirational

AngelMae 09-24-2008 04:47 PM

I was crying too!! I was really mad when they voted the Grey team off though they were my favorite!!

But they looked really great when they showed them 4 months later!!

jandaman 09-25-2008 10:53 AM

i also love it when the booted candidates turn right around and have AMAZING results all on their own..what i wonder is-how do they do it???? where do they find the time to work out so intensely bein' back in the real world and all..plus being confronted with actual temptations and all their old unhealthy patterns..makes their results seem even more spectacular than those left in the house!

ducky0224 09-25-2008 12:08 PM

I'm watching, but probably wont religiously. Just to hard to stay glued to a tv for that long. Maybe I will get on the elliptical during it, so that I am not just sitting there watching.

amandarose17 10-01-2008 12:35 PM

OK, so it was on last night? I missed the first half hour, but my heart is just pulling for Coleen. We are the same age and I can just not imagine having to go through that all alone now. I know she can do it? And did you see her dad afterward? I was so proud of him.

Tomato 10-01-2008 01:10 PM

I am watching TBL, but I find this season somehow ..... totally uninspiring. I don't know. I really loved TBL - Couples and looked forward to watching Families, but so far it does not hold my attraction. I caught only the second half last night. Yes, I agree, Jerry did a great job - I actually did not expect him to do so well. Although it said he lost 70 lbs total and when he started TBL, he was 380. That would make him only 310 and he did not look like a man who weighs 310 lbs (he looked thinner than that).

FrouFrou 10-04-2008 01:58 PM

Tomato...same here. I watched from the beginning and for me too after this last (the 3rd) show...I am not sure I even want to see anymore. The last show kind of irritated me for some reason and it is totally not insipiring me. We'll see after the next show...thinking I will read thru most of it, lol.

The thought of prize money and a FINALE show to be on would be a POWERFUL motivator. Plus you have what you've learned while you were in the house.

Ali from last season got sent home fairly early in the show...came back to win the whole thing. :carrot:

EZMONEY 10-17-2008 08:31 PM

Angie and I usually watch....don't know if it is because we can't watch it together this time around (I am working awya from home) or what, but I am just not getting into it. My bil is hotel rooming with me and he likes the show too but neither of us have been able to stay awake for the entire show.

I really think it's because NBC is trying to stretch 20 minutes of show into 2 freakin' hours! How many times do they need to rpeat stuff....repeat stuff...repeat stuff....repeat stuff....repeat stuff ya know until we know what they did before the commercial!

chunckymonkey 10-17-2008 09:06 PM

I agree, recently got TiVo and speeding through the commercials is one of the top 2 reasons to pay extra for it (the features are the other reason).

Anyway, I am inspired by this season...maybe it's because I know this time is the last time I struggle with my weight. I am inspired to see people actually having the same reasons as myself for eating - accepting what needs to be done to change - and see them all succeed even if they were voted off the show.

When I'm at the gym alone or with the trainer - I'm exhausted from my 12 hr work day and pushing myself for another hour when I could be on a couch is a very hard decision...I see these people working out with trainers - and they are putting in a whole lot more then my hour so who am I to complain. LOL!

(May seem strange - but the thinking works)

My weigh in is on every Fri...week 2 and l lost 1 lb. Through 7 (?) seasons of this show I know that week 2 is horrible...I'm not down on myself, I'm not giving up, and I hunted down this site. Must of my actions are due to the show - in fact, the group of people I'm in weight loss with for the next 4 months refer to ourselves as The Biggest Loser.

tinamae 10-18-2008 05:55 PM

I like watching the show too. It makes it easy to get out of bed the next day and get on the treadmill. Even though we know that their weight loss is not reality for us seeing those guys working that hard really gets me moving.
