I think, at times we don't understand the title so we don't respond.

OK Susan, the chocolate is on the way. But I'm keeping the pool boy. Mama always said, "Charity starts at home." that goes for bribery too!!

Forest Gump's mama would say a pool boy's better than a box of chocolate, though.

I don't understand.

(that usually works to kill a thread for me and it's the truth)
lol

Reminds me of when I was new here -- you don't understand the idea of "recurring threads" and start one that has been posted like 1,000 times!!

Which thread do you see posted the most -- mine is "when/how/how often do you weigh yourself (dressed/undressed/morning/night/standing on one foot, etc.:D)

WebRover 09-08-2008 09:02 PM

One recurring thread has to do with how many pounds you have to lose to drop a size.

Over 2000 views and climbing! <5>

bargoo 09-08-2008 09:21 PM

Still hanging there.

What I've noticed is the ones that gets resurrected from months ago and you're sure it had to be at least 5-6 pages back. Just saw Things That Make You Cry. I don't want to cry, but it's dark blue with the little "go to first new post" thingy in front of it and the "you have a post" arrow on the envelope thinger magigger. Oh yeah, well why not just leave an open twinkie on the kitchen counter when I haven't eaten all day.

I MUST CHECK IT OUT!!! "Oh wow that is kinda sad." *scroll down* "Huh, wait, what post is that referring to?" *Go back up to find out.* *See three more things that make me sad.* "Well, what did I post?" *Go back searching.* "Oh damn:stress:!!!!" *Go see where other posts are on the date before resurrection.* "WHAT, THAT WAS 25 PAGES BACK!!!!":dizzy: Just a minute, I gotta go get a tissue.

I'm back.

See, there are other 3FC/OCD viruses besides us Threadkiller Mad Women.:hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

PS. I think I went back at least that far myself a couple of nights when I couldn't sleep and no one else was on.:D

Good Morning! Thread still lives!

Hope all you dedicated "thread killer wanna be's" had an awesome day -- I must say when I'm having a tough time, thinking of you guys makes me giggle

There are some days I go hunting for threads with few or no replies... of course, those are days that I have more time than I know what to do with, and those days are few and far between.

There's one in the 40's section titled "Anyone from Dallas ?" that has sat with 0 replies for quite awhile. I feel bad watching it just sit there, but does she really want a reply that says, "sorry, I'm from WI," ?

If you're from Dallas respond. (5)

twilit tera, I had already posted and then noticed you're from Texas!!!! Maybe you are from Dallas...

I did this just yesterday, resurrected an old thread and I'm still waiting on a response. I didn't want to have to put the thread on the spot, but what can I say, I'm a resurrecter and killer of threads.

bargoo 09-09-2008 11:55 AM

Sometimes old threads have really good info. Because it is old dosn't mean it is not valid,

Erm... I'm from Dallas (more or less... in texas being "from" someplace is kind of relative) but why did she post it in the 40's section? Is she only interested in responses from 40-49 year olds?

I'll go check out the thread... I'll be 40 in a coupla years :cheese-eating-grin:

Edit: I did go check it out, and location is only half the question... she wants dallas-ites that are participating in the 3-day walk for breast cancer... i think... gods, short term memory is NOT good today.

Anyhoo, I'm not walking, so I din't post.

Does that count for mods too?

shelby897 09-09-2008 03:14 PM

I've also noticed the more specific the thread, the less the number of reponses -- example -- "Do you find it hard to not snack at night?" compared to "do you find it difficult to not snack at 9:37 p.m. on three day old twinkies?" :D
